    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily measure a vibration acceleration of a cage at low cost when machinery facilities are operated. SOLUTION: Vibration acceleration detectors 40 and 41, and 44 are mounted on the cage 26 and a bearing box 30, respectively. By hitting the shaft 20 when the machinery facilities is stopped, the vibration acceleration of the holder 26 and the vibration acceleration of the bearing box 30 during the standstill period of time are measured, respectively, to obtain the relationship between both the measurement values in advance. Thereafter, the vibration acceleration of the bearing box 30 is measured when the machinery facilities are operated, and the vibration acceleration of the holder 26 during the operating period of time is found from the measured value during the operating period of time and the relationship between both the measured values during the standstill period of time. Further, the driving speed of the machinery facilities is decelerated or stopped, according to the thus obtained vibration acceleration and the permissible vibration acceleration.     • PURPOSE:To set a character image segmented at an appropriate segmenting position as a recognition target by setting the binary threshold value of an input image at the optimum one. CONSTITUTION:A background with nonuniform density is eliminated from the input image by a character extracting means 4 consisting of a minimum value filter 1, a maximum value filter 2, and a subtractor 3. An extracted character image is binarized by a binarization means 5. Projection distribution data from a binary image to orthogonal two axes is generated by a projection distribution generating means 6, and it is judged whether or not the segmenting position of a character is appropriate by coordinate data by a comparison means 7. A threshold value in the binarization means 5 is corrected based on a judged result, and the character is segmented from an obtained binary image, and the character is specified by a recognition means 9. The binary threshold value is decided without being affected by the background, and also, it can be corrected so at to perform the optimum segmentation of the character.

Thirdly, a character frame divided into plural areas is set based on the projection distribution data to the orthogonal two axes of an optimized binary image(procedure C). Fourthly, the input image is binarized at every divided area in the character frame, and respective independent binary threshold value is optimized (procedure D). Finally, the character frame is re-set based on the projection distribution data to the orthogonal two axes of the binary image optimized at the procedure D(procedure E).
