    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a specimen holder appropriately used both for an X-ray diffractometer and for a thermal analyzer such as a differential scanning calorimeter.
      SOLUTION: A holder body 1 is formed out of a thermally conductive hard material, and comprises a pedestal 2 and a rectangular wall body 5, the wall body 5 projecting from the pedestal 2 and forming an inner wall surface 4 of a specimen-filling recessed part 3. The recessed part 3 to be filled with powdery specimen is formed out of the wall surface 4 of the wall body 5 and out of a recessed-part bottom surface 6 forming an upper surface of the pedestal 2. A film pressing tool 7 has a rectangular picture-frame shape while inner circumferential surfaces 9 of an opening 8 in its center part are set to have size allowing a film 10 to be appressed fitted thereinto with the film 10 put between the circumferential surfaces 9 and outer circumferential surfaces 11 of the wall body 5. As the film 10, for example, Kapton, Mylar, various films for wrapping, etc. are used and a material is selected which is X-ray transmissive, excellent in gas tightness, not permeated even by a volatile material, and heat resistant. Preferably, a material of the order of 10 microns is used.
