    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a seamless-metal-pipe manufacturing method whereby cracking of the pipe when in a molten state can be inhibited.SOLUTION: The seamless-metal-pipe manufacturing method in this embodiment is provided with the following steps: a step (S2) in which a high alloy containing 20-30% Cr and more than 22% but no more than 60% Ni, by mass%, is heated in a first furnace; a step (S3) in which hollow tube stock is produced by using a first piercer to pierce/roll the high alloy that has been heated in the first furnace; a step (S4) in which the hollow tube stock is heated in a second furnace; and a step (S5) in which either the first piercer or a different second piercer from the first pierce is used to draw/roll the hollow tube stock that has been heated in the second furnace.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a piercing plug equipped with a sprayed coating which is hard to peel off.SOLUTION: A method for producing a piercing plug equipped with a sprayed coating includes a step of preparing a piercing plug on the surface of which a sprayed coating containing iron and iron oxide is formed, and a heat treatment step of holding the piercing plug for 5-60 minutes at 400-550°C. When the heat treatment temperature is 400°C or more, the transformation from wustite to magnetite is promoted, and an iron ratio and a magnetite ratio in the sprayed coating increase. If the heat treatment temperature is 400°C-550°C, the magnetite ratio and the iron ratio which improve the adhesiveness with the plug body are raised in the sprayed coating. Further, tensile residual stress in the sprayed coating becomes low.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To continuously cast a round slab of high Cr steel having a Cr content of 2.0-18.0 mass% while preventing an inner face flaw in time of pipe production.SOLUTION: A method for producing continuous casting round slab uses a sectional circular mold 4 having a diameter on the inner face side ≤400 mm. The flattened slab is vertically depressed from the direction orthogonal to the vertically depressed direction by one or more shaping rolls to shape a section of the slab to a circular section having a prescribed dimension without flattening the slab.
