    • PURPOSE:To control the size of a sheet thickness with good accuracy by backing up and bending work rolls by the high-pressure fluid injected from backup nozzles and controlling the pressure of the high-pressure fluid. CONSTITUTION:The spacing between the upper and lower work rolls 11 and 12 is set in the stage of rolling a thin sheet 10 fed from a temp. controller B. The backup nozzles 23, 24 are also vertically moved in this stage while the spacings from the rolls 11, 12 are maintained. The work rolls 11, 12 are respectively pressurized by the backup rolls 13, 15 in the case of rolling the thin sheet 10 by the work rolls 11, 12. The high-pressure water is at the same time forced into the backup nozzles 23, 24 so that the high-pressure water is injected from injection holes 25, 28 to the rolls 11, 12 respectively. The sheet thickness size in the transverse direction of the rolled sheet 10 is measured by a sheet thickness control device and the pressure of the high-pressure water, i.e., the bending rate of the respective rolls 11, 12 is adjusted by which the size of the sheet thickness is accurately controlled.

    • PURPOSE:To make roll changing easy and to reduce an installation cost in a multistage rolling mill by supporting roll chock by means of slider. CONSTITUTION:The supply of the pressure oil to the hydraulic cylinder of each roll bending device 20 is stopped in the case of performing roll changing. When the stoppers 19, 21 mounted on the work side of a slider 17 are removed, the rugged parts 17b, 15a to be engaged with the slider 17 and a backup roll chock 15 are formed with a suitable clearance in a vertical direction and therefore the respective rolls 12, 14 and roll chocks 13, 15 can be put into and out from a housing 16. Since the pipings such as hydraulic hoses or the like for working the device 20 are mounted to the slider 17, there is no need for attaching or detaching the piping at each roll change and the time for the roll change is reduced.

    • PURPOSE:To enable the follow up to not only the vertical movement but also the horizontal movement with mill spindles by specifying the coupling of pins in the end parts on the output shaft side of a support frame provided with bearings for supporting the mill spindles. CONSTITUTION:A support frame 15 encloses both sides of a mill spindle 14 which connects the work roll 2 (the same holds true of 2') of a rolling mill and an output shaft 11 by means of universal joints 12, 13. A bearing 16 which supports the approximate centroid position of the spindle 14 freely axially movably and rotatably is provided to the frame 15. A ring 22 is provided on the outside circumference of the joint 12 apart from the same concentrically with a spindle 14, and is coupled freely rotatably by means of a pair of pins 23 to one end part of the frame 15 on the horizontal line X running the center of the joint 12. A pair of pins 24 are provided on the vertical line Y running the center of the joint 12 at the ring 22 and is mounted freely rotatably to the bearing part 25 fixed to the support base 17 of the shaft 11. On the other hand, the end on the roll 2 side of the frame 15 is coupled to the cylinder 20 on a stand or foundation by means of a pin joint 26 and a pin joint contg. a self-aligning bearing, and the cylinder 20 is tiltable horizontally.

    • PURPOSE:To provide a support device for mill spindles usable for a cross rolling mill as well by providing specifically, support arms, guides and support grooves for the same respectively on both sides at the bottom ends of support frames with bearings for supporting the mill spindles. CONSTITUTION:Support frames 20 are provided on both sides of a mill spindle 11 provided with universal joints 11a at both ends connecting the work roll 2 and output shaft 19 of a rolling mill, and the spindle 11 is rotatably supported by means of bearings 21, 21 provided thereto.
