SOLUTION: In this organic electroluminescence element, at least a reflective layer, a light emitting area including an organic material, and a transparent or semi-transparent electrode are sequentially formed on a substrate. A translucent protective film is formed on the transparent or semi-transparent electrode. The protective film comprises a multi-layer film formed by laminating multiple layers of at least two or more types of thin films having different refractive indexes. The refractive indexes of the thin films sequentially laminated on the upper electrode are set to N1, N2, N3...Nn, and the ratios N(n-1)/Nn and Nn/N(n+1) of the sequentially laminated adjacent refractive indexes of the thin films are set to 0.8 to 1.1. 摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To design simplification of layer structure in a multilayer reflective and semitransmissive liquid crystal display element exhibiting a light-condensing property equal to that of a glass substrate. SOLUTION: By using a metallic mold, a lower resin substrate 22 having a projecting and recessing layer integrated therewith is formed. Aluminum coating is applied to the projecting and recessing surface to provide a reflection layer 8 for diffusion. A flattening layer 16 is provided on the upper surface of the reflection layer 8 and a transparent electrode 4b is formed thereon. On the other hand, a transparent electrode 4a is formed on the lower surface of an upper side transparent resin substrate 20 and a liquid crystal 5 is sealed between the lower resin substrate 22 and the upper side transparent resin substrate 20 with spacers. In this way, a reflection surface for the diffusion and the substrate are integrated.

摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To partially cut a laminated substrate for a liquid crystal display device using a plastic substrate so as to form an area in the peripheral part of the liquid crystal cell where substrates are not overlapped. SOLUTION: Cutting lines are formed from the outside along the position to be divided of each of the two plastic substrates of a liquid crystal display device under the condition that a specified thickness is left. The cutting lines are formed by dicing using a blade, laser processing or processing using high pressure water. Then the substrates are disposed on a dividing table with an elastic sheet 15 having lower elasticity than the plastic substrates interposed, and the device is pressed with break bars at the position of the cutting lines of the plastic substrate of the lower side and at the upper position opposing the cutting lines.
