    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase the yield of reclaimed aggregate by specifying the effective sieve opening, removing mortar from the minus-sieve waste materials and crushing again the plus-sieve waste material in the aggregate-reclaiming installation comprising a crushing unit, a sieving unit and a separation unit. SOLUTION: The effective mesh size of the sieving unit is set to 25-35mm. This value is larger than the maximum size of the main aggregate in the waste material by 25-75%. The figure gives the whole process chart. Concrete lumps B are charged in the hopper 1 by a shovel D, moves in a reciprocating feeder 2, sieved on a vibrating sieve 70 of 100mm diameter mesh and the plus-sieve fraction is broken with a jaw crusher 3. The crushed fraction is combined with the minus-sieve fraction and subjected to the sieving unit. By these operations, the concrete lumps are crushed into pebbles of about (30mm particle size and conveyed to a polishing machine 51, then sent to the gravity concentrator 6 and separated into crushed pebbles, mortar lumps, contaminants such as wood pieces and water. In the meantime, fine sand and mortar are fractionated with a spiral classifier.
