SOLUTION: The regulation of the amount of the spreading of the chemical liquid to be spread from a spreading boom 19 is performed by controlling a flow rate by a variable flow rate control valve 59 so as to attain the chemical liquid spreading pressure value obtained by adding in the detected values of a vehicle speed sensor 93 and a pressure sensor 86 when an operator inputs the chemical liquid volume set value to a CPU 105 by a chemical liquid volume setting switch 94. When a discharge pressure of a prevention pump 20 is elevated by an increase in the number of revolutions of an engine after the spreading control of the chemical liquid starts, the internal pressure in a liquid entry line 52b can be maintained at the specified pressure or below by a safety valve 89 disposed in a return line 60. Further, when the discharge pressure of the prevention pump 20 is elevated by the increase in the number of revolutions of the engine, the chemical liquid circulates into the second return line 61 and the internal pressure in the liquid entry line 52b can be maintained at the specified pressure or below.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a root vegetable harvester in which the ground plate of a ground sensor disposed on a raising means is free from the deformation of the ground plate due to the adhesion of soil. SOLUTION: A flat plate-like ground sensor 25 for detecting the unevenness of a ridge is attached to the lower outer side surface of the raising case 21 or 22 of a raising device 4, and disposed between a carrot-digging ridge and the adjacent ridge. In the ground sensor 25, a ground plate 25b is connected to a support plate 25a rotatably disposed on the outer surface of the raising case 21. The ground plate 25b is vertically moved in response to the unevenness of a field, and a potentiometer detects the unevenness of the field. In response to the detection values, both the right and left raising devices 4, a digging device 5, a root vegetable-carrying device 6 and so on are vertically rotated to suitably control the height of the digging portion. When soil is loaded and adhered to the upper surface of the ground plate 25b of the ground sensor 25, the ground plate 25b is deformed due to the weight of the loaded soil. Thereby, for the prevention of the loading of the soil on the upper surface of the ground plate 25b, the right and left flat plate side surfaces of the ground plate 25b in the harvester-traveling direction are formed in shapes parallel to the harvester- traveling direction.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a root vegetable harvester equipped with a pulling and carrying means which can smoothly nip and carry root vegetables without relating to the sizes of their stems and leaves. SOLUTION: A pair of positioning bars 28e, 28f for downward squeezing a carrot to maintain a distance between the neck root portion of the carrot and the nipping and carrying belt 28a at a constant value or more are disposed at the front and rear positions of the pulling and carrying device 28 in such the bar shapes that the downward squeezing quantity (the squeezing length in the vertical direction) is increased with the travel of the root vegetable in the traveling rear direction. Since the squeezing angles of the positioning bars 28e, 28f are thus moderated in comparison with the squeezing angle (carrying angle) of the nipping and carrying belt 28a, the root vegetable can smoothly be carried and simultaneously squeezed. The squeezing quantity L2 of the rear positioning bar 28f in the carrying direction is larger than the squeezing quantity L1 of the front positioning bar 28e. Thereby, a root vegetable having a thin stem and thin leaves can easily be squeezed, even when the root vegetable having the thin stem and the thin leaves is carried after a thick root vegetable having a thick stem and thick leaves is carried.

The vegetable neckarranging and transferring device 33 is used for receiving the dug root vegetables from the transfer device 28 for transferring the root vegetables to the upper rear portion, transferring the received root vegetables and simultaneously arranging the necks of the transferred root vegetables.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the digging height controller of a vegetable harvester, capable of eliminating the problem that the digging device of a conventional vegetable harvester is excessively lowered in comparison with a practical height, is thereby collided with a ridge, etc., and can surely not nip vegetables, because of being lowered on the basis of an inputted signal at the time. SOLUTION: A harvesting and carrying device comprising a pair of right and left nipping belts for dipping and harvesting vegetables in a field and a receiving portion for storing the harvested vegetables are disposed on the front and rear portions of a travel vehicle, respectively, under which travel devices are disposed. The digging height of the harvesting and carrying device is controlled on the basis of the operation signal of the controller 6. The controller 6 controls the digging height on the basis of preliminarily set information and the detected information of a height sensor 7. The control operation of the controller 6 is started after the start of the travel, and the control is begun at a preset digging height.
