摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem that size of a fixed bracket is likely to increase when the fixed bracket for attaching a steering device to a vehicle body is formed by one piece sheet metal. SOLUTION: This steering device 1 has lower and upper fixed brackets 9, 10 fixed to the vehicle body and a long bracket 11 fixed to a steering column 4 and supported on both fixed brackets 9, 10 through lower and upper support shafts 12, 13. In the upper fixed bracket 10, a top plate 17, a front plate 22 and a rear plate 23 formed by bending each from one end 19 of a front fringe 18 of the top plate 17 and the other end 21 of a rear fringe 20, and a pair of side plates 15, 16 formed by bending each from the front plate 22 and the rear plate 23 and opposing mutually are integrally formed using one piece sheet metal. Consequently, welding cost can be reduced, and the fixed bracket 10 and the steering device 1 can be inexpensively manufactured. SOLUTION: A cylindrical bellows hollow bag body 21 to surround a lower shaft 4 is provided in a lower column tube 15. The hollow bag body 21 is pressed and constricted between an in-collision movable side end 3a of an upper shaft 3 as a movable part in the collision of a vehicle and a bearing 16 as a fixed part.
