SOLUTION: A reforming furnace 1 to produce the reformed gas 5 by subjecting the coke-oven gas 3 obtained by destructive distillation of coal to partial combustion with an oxidizing agent includes a cylindrical reaction passage 15 equipped with a gas inlet 11 to introduce the coke-oven gas 3 at its one end and a gas outlet 13 to discharge the reformed gas 5 at its another end. The reaction passage 15 includes a diverging part 19 from the gas inlet 11, a converging part 21 to the gas outlet 13, and a straight cylindrical part 23 located between the diverging part 19 and converging part 21. A plurality of nozzles 29 of the oxidizing agent to blow oxygen 27 into the reaction passage 15 are installed toward the central portion of the reaction passage 15 at the inclined surface of the diverging part 19 and mix the coke-oven gas 3 and the oxygen 27 uniformly. Since the hardness (wear resistance) of material at the pulverizing surface of the pulverizing roller 18 is thus differentiated in the crossing direction, the pulverizing surface of the pulverizing roller 18 is worn and deformed so that its central part becomes hollow with time and the rolling of the pulverizing roller 18 is kept stationary, thus self-exciting vibration hardly occurs, moreover, since the recess in the central part of the pulverizing roller 18 progresses at the use period of the mill is lengthened, the longer it is used, the more hardly the self-exciting vibration occurs.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent slagging from occurring by providing a swirling device for swirling and injecting secondary air for combustion around a fuel injection nozzle and a plurality of tertiary air nozzles for injecting tertiary air from around the swirling device into an interior of a furnace without swirling the tertiary air. SOLUTION: A nozzle 41 for pulverized coal having a flame stabilizer 43 provided at an end portion is provided with a start-up oil burner 42 inserted in a center thereof and secondary and tertiary air is fed as combustion air. The combustion air is regulated at a specified flow rate by means of a flow regulating damper 44 before being fed as secondary air 45 and tertiary air 46. The secondary air 45 is swirled around the nozzle 41 for pulverized coal by a swirling vane 47 and is fed into an interior of a furnace. Secondary air resistor 48 is provided as a swirling device besides the swirling vane 47 in order to intensify swirling of the secondary air. The tertiary air 46 is injected from a tertiary air nozzle in a direction of injection fumed about a burner throat. Slag can be removed without influence of burner capacity by employing the tertiary air injecting method as described above.
