    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a damping material for machine parts, capable of introducing a non-bonding interface in a small number of processes.
      SOLUTION: The method includes the steps of: preparing a preformed material 2a having a first thick-walled part 4a with a first projection 5a, a thin-walled part 6 and a second thick-walled part 4b adjoining the first thick-walled part 4a with the thin-walled part 6 interposed between them; arranging the preformed material 2a between a pair of dies 3a, 3b regulated in expansion of an outer diameter shape perpendicular to a pressing direction; plastically deforming metallic material forming the first thick-walled part 4a and the second thick-walled part 4b by subjecting the material to forging while applying it pressure to narrow a space between the pair of dies 3a, 3b, so that the metallic material flows into the thin-walled part 6 and the surface of first thick-walled part 4a and the surface of the second thick-walled part 4b contact with each other; and forming the non-bonding interface 7 at which the first thick-walled part 4a and the second thick-walled part 4b contact without forming metallic bonding in a state of laying the thin-walled part 6 inside.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vibration damping material for a machine component, capable of easily selecting a material according to a demand with few restrictions in respect of the material, being widely applied to many machine components, and easily achieving further excellent vibration damping characteristics.
      SOLUTION: A ringl-like material 2 having a groove portion 21 formed by a plastic working and/or machining has nonbonding interfaces which are in contact with each other without being metallically coupled to each other, and which are formed by a method for performing the plastic working by a ring rolling working which performs rolling in a direction where the material 2 is radially extended and also a space in the groove portion 21 is reduced. The nonbonding interfaces are formed from a surface to a predetermined depth in an inside, and it is preferable that they do not penetrate through. It is preferable that the length of the nonbonding interfaces in a depth direction is set to be 20% or more of thickness dimension in the same direction.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide: a steel plate excellent in a fatigue characteristic that can be used at ease in a site to which a severe repeating load stress is added; and a production method of the steel plate.SOLUTION: The steel plate excellent in a fatigue characteristic is provided which includes a specific chemical component composition, and in which the number of a specific compound oxide-based inclusion satisfying all the following conditions (a)-(e) is 90% or more of the number of the total oxide-based inclusion in the steel.(a) SiOand MnO are included as a composing oxide, and at least one of AlO, MgO and CaO is included, (b) when the total content of the composing oxide is assumed 100% by a mass ratio, 30%≤SiO≤60%, 10%≤MnO≤50%, and 10%≤AlO+MgO+CaO≤50%, (c) a diameter of the equivalent circle of the compound oxide- based inclusion is 10 μm or less, (d) a major axis/a minor axis of the compound oxide-based inclusion is 2 or less, and (e) a distance between the compound oxide-based inclusion and the other oxide- based inclusions that exist at a circumference of the compound oxide-based inclusion is 10 μm or more.
