摘要： PURPOSE: To make it possible to extend an attribute function while holding interchangeability with computer software based upon European-American standard specifications by storing pairs of character codes and attribute data in a memory, specifying a character by two character codes or more and recognizing extended attribute data. CONSTITUTION: An area occupied by a. character on the display surface of a CRT display device is allowed to correspond to the size of an area occupied by character codes corresponding to the character in a VRAM 3. In the case of alphanumeric character expressed by an en, the attribute data of one byte is allowed to correspond to the character code of one byte, and in the case of KANJI (Chinese character) expressed by an em, attribute data are allowed to correspond to each of character codes corresponding to two bytes. Attribute data corresponding to the 2nd KANJI character code are used for extended attribute data. Consequently an attribute function can be extended while maintaining interchangeability with computer software based upon European- American standard specifications.

摘要： PURPOSE:To improve the storage efficiency by rearranging font data of each character in KANJI (chinese character) code area in the order of consecutive address and storing the result. CONSTITUTION:Font data of each character are stored while their addresses are consecutive by utilizing it that the high-order 2 bits of 2nd byte of the shift JIS code are not '0' simultaneously and an area whose 1st byte is (80)H is free in a KANJI ROM. That is, the font data of the shift JIS in the area Ar1 where the 1st byte of the character codes is (E0)H-(E7)H are rearranged in an area Ar1' where the 1st byte is (88)H-(9F)H and the high-order 2 bits of the 2nd byte are all '0'. Thus, the storage efficiency is improved and required character font data are stored in a less capacity.

摘要： PURPOSE: To make it possible to put images one over the other by comparing the output timing points of synchronizing signals outputted by two display controllers with each other and stopping supplying a dot clock to the controller which has sent out the synchronizing signal earlier by the time difference in output timing. CONSTITUTION: The display controllers 2 and 5 read a VRAM 4 and a VRAM 5 corresponding to dot clocks SDCL and MDCL indicating the display timing of one dot on a display screen, and generate the synchronizing signals needed for display control, and the vertical synchronizing signals SVIN and MVIN of them are supplied to a synchronizing and KANJI (Chinese character) display device 8. The synchronizing and KANJI display device 8 generates a dot clock by a clock oscillator and when it is supplied to the display controllers 2 and 5, the output timing points of the vertical synchronizing signals SVIN and MVIN are compared with each other to perform control so that the transmission of the dot clocks SDCL and MDCL is timed to a graphic screen and a text screen according to the comparison result. Consequently, the images of the two display controllers can be put one over the other.
