    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for using a protein complex including a "ble" fusion protein having a specific bonding characteristic.
      SOLUTION: The protein complex can be bonded reversibly to an antibiotic from a bleomycin family, and the characteristic is utilized for various immobilization methods. The complex is used as a marker for protein expression and/or folding, or as a marker for affinity tagging. The invention also provides a probe including an array of an immobilized antibiotic from the bleomycin family, which acts as an analyte capture moiety. In another aspect, a purification media is provided, which includes an antibiotic of the bleomycin family as an analyte capture moiety. Further, a method is provided, for generating a soluble form of an insoluble protein by expressing the protein as a "ble" fusion protein and selecting in the presence of an antibiotic from the bleomycin family. In a further aspect, the "ble" protein is expressed as a fusion protein in a cell into which a labelled antibiotic of the bleomycin family is introduced, thereby allowing identification of the cellular localization of the protein.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an enzyme array and an assay for use using a mass spectrometer, concretely laser desorption/ionization such as a MALDI mass spectrometer or the like, though it is not limited.
      SOLUTION: A method for determining an enzyme activity or effect which a test compound has to the enzyme activity using mass spectrometry includes: a process for providing a probe carrying an immobilized enzyme; a process for introducing a test compound by arbitrary selection; a process for introducing one or more reaction materials in sufficient time and a form for generating a reaction in the immobilized enzyme; a process for drying the probe; a process for performing a mass spectrometry to the probe; and a process for determining the enzyme activity or effect which the test compound has against the enzyme activity by detecting the presence and/or absence of one or more generated materials and/or one or more reaction materials. The method is a typical example in relation to a kinase assay. The array used in the method is also provided.
