In this solid state battery, the positive electrode layer and the negative electrode layer are constituted of a terminal contact portion that is in direct contact with each of the positive electrode terminal and the negative electrode terminal and a non-terminal contact portion other than the terminal contact portion, and in at least one electrode layer of the positive electrode layer and the negative electrode layer, a sectional area of the terminal contact portion along the opposing side surfaces of the solid state battery laminate is smaller than a sectional area of the non-terminal contact portion along the side surfaces.
