    • The invention relates to a hydraulic damper (8) for a weapon, comprising a damper housing (7), a piston (9), and a piston rod (10), the damper having a first chamber (12), a second chamber (13), and a supply chamber (14), wherein the first chamber (12) is connected to the supply chamber (14) by means of a hydraulic channel (16) and the supply chamber is connected to the second chamber (13) by means of a hydraulic channel (17) such that the second chamber (13) is filled with the oil from the first chamber (12) during the recoil of the weapon. At least one control slot (15) is introduced in the piston (9) from each side, the cross-section of which control slot is tapered from the bottom side (9.1) toward the top side (9.2) of the piston (9) for the recoil (R) and accordingly from the top side (9.2) toward the bottom side (9.1) for the counterrecoil (V). Furthermore, valves (18) are provided, which are inserted into bores of the piston (9) and are closed during the counterrecoil (V) and are open during the recoil (R).

    • The invention relates to a mass-lockable breech mechanism (1) for a weapon, with a breech part (3) that can be mounted movably in a breech casing (2) of a corresponding weapon and with an elastic closing element (12). In order that such a breech mechanism (1) has a high degree of functional reliability and in order to ensure that the firing of high-performance ammunition does not involve any significant increase in weight of the corresponding weapon, the invention proposes integrating the closing element (12) in the breech part (3). A hydraulic transmission, connected in series with the closing element (12) and likewise arranged in the breech part (3), achieves the effect here that the closing element (12) can be made very short and that the spring characteristic can have a gradually rising increase in force.

    • An automatic projectile firing weapon and a related method for absorbing the recoil force of an automatic projectile firing weapon are disclosed. The weapon includes a barrel assembly that is slidably mounted in a receiver, biased by an operating spring, and engageable with a main sear. A gas operated bolt assembly is slidably mounted within the barrel assembly and is driven by a bolt spring. A trigger is provided to release the main sear and allow the operating spring to move the barrel assembly forwardly in the receiver. There is further provided a buffer connected between the receiver and the barrel assembly to dampen the velocity of the barrel assembly to ensure the barrel assembly is moving at a predetermined maximum velocity when a round is fired at a predetermined firing position. The recoil energy from the fired round is absorbed mainly by the forward motion of the barrel assembly and in part by the operating spring and buffer. In this manner, the peak recoil load to the receiver is minimized and the weapon operates at its actual firing rate from the first shot.
