摘要： Folder systems and related methods are provided for accurately and efficiently folding a paper carrier (190) that has a card (191) attached without bending or dislodging the card from the carrier. A movable fold chute (150) receives a portion of the carrier with the card attached and allows the carrier to fold while protecting the card portion of the carrier. The fold chute moves between different positions which allow the carrier to enter and exit through folding rollers (101, 102, 103) along a generally straight paper path without forcing the cards around small radii, thereby preventing damage to the cards or causing them to separate from the carrier sheet.

The second pair of conveying members (Rt1; R2, R3) is rotated backward in a state in which the sheet (P) is held by the first pair of conveying members (R1; R1a, R1b) and the second pair of conveying members (Rt1; R2, R3), to guide the deflected portion to the third pair of conveying members (Rt2; R3, R4) and cause the deflected portion to be folded by the third pair of conveying members (Rt2; R3, R4).
