摘要： An apparatus for reading chip cards includes a housing and a printed circuit board (31) and a card reader (36) within this housing. In operation, a chip card is inserted into the housing through a slot and is read by the card reader. The card reader transmits the information from the chip card to the printed circuit board for further processing. It happens that a flat article like a knife is inserted into the slot and moved to and fro resulting into destruction of the card reader. In order to avoid simultaneous destruction of the printed circuit board (32) the invention provides the arrangement of a spacer (34) between the card reader (36) and the printed circuit board (32).

摘要： A connector for use in connecting a loop antenna (32) to a circuit board (20) comprises two terminals (40) mounted in a housing (70). The ends (34,36) of the antenna are blade-like and the terminals include receptacles (44) for receiving the blade-like antenna ends. The terminals (40) are secured together by means of the housing (70) which isolates the terminals from one another and holds them together as a unit. The housing supports the terminals in mutually spaced relation corresponding to the spacing of circuit termini (24) on the board (20) to which the terminals are to be connected. A predetermined amount of solder (28) is disposed on each of the circuit termini, whereafter the terminals can be automatically positioned on the respective termini by means of the housing and be secured to the termini at the same time as other components, in a reflow soldering process. Subsequently, the ends (34,36) of the antenna are mated with the receptacles of the terminals.

摘要： A connector device provides an electrical connection between parallel mounted circuit card assemblies. On one circuit card assembly a male electrical connector is mounted which has electrical connection pins extending from it. On the other circuit card assembly is female electrical connector which has electrical connection holes which receive the connection pins. Mounted proximate to the male electrical connector is a connector guide which contacts at least two edges of the female electrical connector and guides the connector pins into the connector holes. The connector guide also extends above the connector pins and provides protection for the pins while the circuit card assembly is being handled.

摘要： A user accessible connector includes a contact support frame shaped to fit in an external housing, a spring contact attached to the contact support frame for contacting the apparatus PCB, and a guide pin attached to the contact support frame and having a fixed positional relationship with the spring contact. The apparatus PCB is provided with a guide slot that is shaped to receive the guide pin of the connector. Because the guide pin has a fixed positional relationship with the spring contacts and the guide slot has a similar fixed positional relationship with the PCB contact pads, when the guide pin is inserted in the PCB guide slot, the spring contacts are accurately aligned with the PCB contact pads.
