摘要： An elastic contact device (100;400A;400B; 500) for electrically contacting electronic components is proposed. The contact device includes at least one basic module (100), which has a longitudinal axis (110). In turn, each basic module includes an elastic core (105) for defining an elasticity of the basic module; the elastic core undergoes an axial elastic deformation in response to an axial compression. A first contact terminal element (115) and a second contact terminal element (120) are coupled with the elastic core in axially opposed positions. One or more elongated contact elements (125) extend axially between the first terminal element and the second terminal element. Each elongated element is configured to have a buckling axial critical load higher than zero and lower than a threshold compression.

摘要： A module for insertion into an expansion slot of a computer includes a primary board (62) and a pair of auxiliary boards (64a, 64b). The auxiliary boards are mounted in a spaced relationship on respective sides of the primary board to define air paths between the boards. The air paths allow air to circulate between the boards. The auxiliary boards each have a trace (72) for electrically connecting the board to the primary board, and the primary board has a trace (70) for connecting chips (68) mounted thereon to an interface with the expansion slot. The traces of the auxiliary boards are substantially the same length. The trace of the primary boards is only slightly longer than the traces of the auxiliary boards.

A plurality of contacts (306) are included within the cavity and extend through one of the walls to an exterior of the contact housing (302) wherein the contacts (306) flex against the alignment housing (304) and abut the alignment rib (370), thereby ensuring coplanarity of the contacts for surface mounting to a circuit board.
