    • The present invention relates to strain gauges, in particular to strain gauges used to determine a force on welding gun used for spot welding in automated assembly lines. A claimed strain gauge for welding gun comprises a housing that consists of at least two portions forming a single closed internal shielded space; a sensing element comprising one resistive strain sensor or at least two resistive strain sensors combined into a strain gage bridge, wherein said sensing element is arranged on an inner surface of one of the portions of the housing, wherein said housing portion has a material thinning in the area of the sensing element, wherein said sensing element is arranged between housing supports of the strain gauge, wherein the housing supports are arranged on the portion of the housing and are made of electrically non-conductive material of high rigidity, wherein a height of the housing supports is such that there is no contact between the housing and a surface of the welding gun; a ground line of the force data output device having a galvanic contact with at least one of the portions of the housing; the communication line connecting the sensing element with the force data output device comprises a damping bend. The technical effect achieved by the claimed strain gauge is its noise immunity and the ability to its operation under complex electromagnetic environment.
