    • To ensure, in an inexpensive manner, the stability under firing of a full-calibre training projectile (1) which comprises a solid head part (3) and a tubular tail unit body (5) adjoining the head part (3) to the rear, the invention proposes that the tail unit body (5) is configured such that the propellant gases generated during the firing of the training projectile (1) also act on the outer side (6) of the side wall (7) of the tubular tail unit body (5). To enable a training projectile (1) that has not been fired to be discharged again in a simple manner if required, a guide ring (8) arranged on the tail unit body (5) is adjoined to the rear by an annular subsection (10) of the tail unit body (5), to which subsection there is fastened a load-limiting ring (11) which is composed of plastic and whose outer diameter is slightly larger than the projectile calibre of the training projectile (1). Both the guide ring (8) and also the load-limiting ring (11) are designed such that the propellant gases generated during the firing of the training projectile (1) can pass by corresponding regions of the guide ring (8) and of the load-limiting ring (11) to the outer side (6), situated between the guide ring (8) and the head part (3), of the side wall (7) of the tubular tail unit body (5).
