The LEDs may be all the same color, or some or all may be different colors. A switch, coupled to switching electronics coupled to the LED array, is used to change the state of the LED array to create a variety of different types of light beams, each of which provides relatively uniform and bright illumination at a given distance from the flashlight, wherein the given distance is selectable by adjusting an adjustable imaging lens.

摘要： A highly efficient lighting system, a scrolling unit, and a projection system adopting the highly efficient lighting system and the scrolling unit are provided. The scrolling unit has at least one lens cell. From the viewpoint of light incident upon the at least one lens cell, the rotation of the at least one lens cell is converted into a rectilinear motion of a lens array, such that incident light is scrolled. The projection system includes a light source, an optical splitter, at least one scrolling unit, and a light valve. The optical splitter splits light emitted from the light source according to wavelenght. The at least one scrolling unit has at least one lens cell. The lens cell has an incident side and an emitting side and divides incident light into light beams. The rotation of the lens cell causes a rectilinear motion of the light beams, thereby scrolling incident light. The light emitted from the light source is separated into color beams by the optical splitter and the scrolling unit, and the color beams are focused on the light valve. The light valve processes incident light according to an input image signal in order to form a color image.

摘要： A lighting fixture (10) with a controllable light block (26). The fixture (10) includes a reflector (16) and high intensity discharge lamp (18) that requires a re-strike or warm-up period to come to full brightness or intensity. A cover member (26) is mounted to the reflector (16) and is moveable between an unblocked position and a blocked position. Movement of the cover member (26) is immediate so that blockage of light from the fixture is immediately effectuated. The apparatus is configured so that cover member (26) can be in the blocked position for indefinite periods of time even though the arc lamp continues to be operated at full power, without heat buildup which is detrimental to any part of the apparatus. The cover member (26) also allows light control and special effects lighting options. Another aspect of the invention utilizes an aperture (66) in the cover member (26) that is alignable with the light source when the cover member (26) is in the blocked position. Different inserts (78A, 135, 77) can be placed in the aperture, or it can be opened and closed independently to create special or theatrical effects including changes in color.
