摘要： In order to obtain a process for preparing animal hides or pelts that is less labour intensive and more environmentally friendly, animal hides or pelts soaked in a conventional manner are treated with a conventional tanning solution in which carbon dioxide is dissolved under pressure. This significantly reduces the duration of the treatment and shortens the time usually required to produce leather or pelts. In addition, conventional treatment steps may be united in a single treatment step. Instead of the usual 20 to 40 tons waste water produced in conventional processes per ton of leather or pelts, only 2 tons of waste water are still produced per ton of leather or pelts. Besides having a considerably reduced environmental impact, this process is significantly more economical in comparison with conventional processes because of a considerably shorter total processing time.

摘要： A pretreatment method in the tanning process for modifying the properties of a hide of skin of an animal is disclosed in which the pretreatment step comprises contacting the hide or skin with a pickling solution formed from a pickling agent which comprises at least one or more of phenol mono-, di- or trisulphonic acid or derivatives thereof, either singly or in combination, including combinations with other materials, which treatment is effective at a final pH of or below 3.4, and there is even penetration of the pickling solution into the hide or skin without swelling taking place in the absence of added salt. The advantage of the pickling solution and method of treatment as described is that a low salt content effluent is produced.

摘要： The invention relates to a tanning process which comprises the following step: (a) an oxidative liming in base environment of a hide. The oxidative liming comprises a treatment of the hide with lime. The oxidative liming, i.e. step (a), comprises the following steps wherein the percentages are to be understood as percentages by weight with respect to the weight of the hide: (a1) immunizing the hair of said hide with 0.8 to 1.2%, preferably with about 1% of hydrated lime; (a2) thereafter, adding an unhairing solution of peroxide in a percentage of between 2 and 3% of hydrogen peroxide, at a pH of between 12.0 and 12.5, wherein the pH is preferably adjusted by alkalizing the mixture with caustic soda (NaOH); and (a3) thereafter, neutralizing the bath. The process allows recovering all the components of the liming, in particular also the protein part in the liming bath. The hide obtained with the liming is sulfide-free. The invention also relates to a complete tanning process, from brining up to dressing, which complies with the ISO 15987 standard.
