摘要： The invention relates to a method of controlling an artificial force feel generating device (6) for generation of an artificial feeling of force on an inceptor (4a) of a vehicle control system (10) that comprises an automatic flight control system (7). The method comprises monitoring usage of the inceptor (4a) and of a mechanical connection (6a) during operation, determining a current accumulated fatigue (27a) on the basis of the monitored usage and determining a fatigue prediction (33a, 33b, 33c). Thus, steps of the method provide: re-configuring (7a) protections of the automatic flight control system (7) and re-configuring (21a) of force generating device (12) both on the basis of the current accumulated fatigue (27a), and determining an applicable overhaul interval of the inceptor (4a) and of the mechanical linkage (6a) on the basis of the determined fatigue prediction (33a, 33b, 33c).

摘要： Previous flight control systems summed the resistive forces which are overcome by the instant system. A bifurcated feel unit (60) for use in a dual path flight control system includes separate input levers (162, 164) for the pilot and copilot control paths. The input levers (162, 164) pivot about a common axis (166) but are capable of independent rotation upon override of the breakout pogos (44, 50) associated with the control system external to the feel unit (60). Each input lever (162, 164) is coupled to a source of resistive force (100), preferably a piston (86, 96) within a hydraulic chamber (88, 98). Normally the feel force supplied is the sum of the resistive forces applied to each input lever (162, 164). In the event of a jam in one path of the flight control system, the feel force supplied to the remaining operable path is reduced in proportion to the reduction in available control surface.
