    • A nursing bed includes means for washing a patient who lies on the bed, without removing the patient from the bed. It comprises a plurality of inflatable cushions fixedly mounted on a base, and means for washing the patient comprising a moving brush and trough under the back of the patient. At least part of the cushions have one or more drainage channels made thereon, for allowing washing water and soap to flow down off the bed. The base is generally a flat surface. The base with the cushions mounted thereon form a mattress on the bed. Each cushion has an outlet usable for inflating and deflating the cushion.

    • The present invention relates to a medical bed. A conventional bed for patients causes inconvenience due to a wet bed sheet used for a bath being replaced with a new sheet or drying the sheet using a separate apparatus slowly. In order to dry a wet sheet on a rooftop or in sunlight, a person has to carry the sheet by oneself. But, the wet sheet is very heavy, causing a physical burden and inconvenience to return the dried sheet again. Accordingly, a medical bed according to the present invention is disclosed to solve these problems of the conventional bed. The medical bed comprises a bed frame, a support plate, a head unit, a body unit, a lifting unit, a lifting member, a water collection unit, and an angle adjustment unit. The bed frame has legs, plural loess bed units, and a separation preventive unit. Inner spaces and moving rollers are formed in the legs. The separation preventive unit is formed at both sides of the bed frame to prevent the separation of the loess bed unit. The support plate is installed on the loess bed unit for support. The head unit is installed at the support plate. The body unit extends toward the lower side of the head unit and guides up-and-down movement of the loess bed. The lifting unit extends toward the lower side of the body unit and includes an insertion unit, which is mounted on the upper side of an elastic spring and applies pressure to the inner space of a lifting member. In addition the lifting unit is installed while maintaining a certain height from a bottom surface. The lifting member is installed on a fastening bar and moves the lifting unit vertically. The elastic spring is arranged inside the lifting member, and an inlet for injecting and discharging pneumatic and hydraulic pressure is formed at the upper side of the lifting member. The water collection unit positioned in an inner space of the bed frame has both a sloped bottom surface and wheels installed at the right and left ends of the lower side thereof. The angle adjustment unit is installed at the bed frame to enable angular movement of the bed frame.

    • The patient support structure or bed comprises an articulatable frame (30) having a plurality of elongated inflatable sacks (1 to 10) thereon, the sacks being connected to a low pressure compressed air blower (104) and a plurality of pipes (100) for carrying gas from the blower to the sacks. The sacks rest atop a neoprene membrane which covers a planar upper surface (64) of the frame (30). Power to the air blower is supplied by a variable autotransformer adjustable by an electric motor mechanically connected thereto, and operation of the motor is controlled by an electronic circuit which balances the autotransformer voltage against a preset reference voltage. A multi-outlet, variable flow, gas valve comprises a housing (136) defining an inlet (140) and a passageway (138). The valve housing further defines at least two cylinder chambers (142) communicating with the passageway and a discrete outlet (144) for each cylinder chamber, and a piston (146) is substantially nonrotatably disposed inside each cylinder chamber, but is movable along the chamber (142) by a motor (160) to vary flow through the valve and to selected ones of the sacks (70). The sacks can be rapidly deflated via a plurality of solenoid valves, and the pipes from the blower can be directed to different sacks by opening and closing a plurality of manually operated valves.

    • The invention relates to a patient bed comprising castors (1) resting against the floor, legs or a base frame, and a bed framework (2) and a mattress (3), said mattress further comprising a number of elongated mattress elements (3', 3'', etc.), aligned parallel in the longitudinal direction of the bed, and said bed framework being comprised of a framing of the patient bed to which framing are attached tubes (8) or similar slats, aligned parallel with the mattress elements of the bed and forming an essentially horizontal plane in which each tubular slat is aligned in the crosswise or longitudinal direction of the bed to essentially coincide with a furrow adapted between the mattress elements. The invention is implemented so that the patient bed is provided with means (5-7) for moving the mattress (3) essentially in the vertical direction between a first plane defined by the tubular slats and a second plane below said first plane and for stopping the mattress at a desired elevation between said two planes.
