摘要： The invention provides a treated textile material having a finish applied to at least a portion of the surface thereof. The finish comprises at least one particulate component which exhibits a positive surface charge when suspended in an aqueous medium. The invention further provides a process for producing a treated textile material comprising the steps of (a) providing a textile material having a surface, (b) providing a suspension comprising a medium and at least one particulate component, the particulate component exhibiting a positive surface charge when suspended in an aqueous medium, (c) applying the suspension to at least a portion of the surface of the textile material, and (d) heating the textile material to remove the medium from the textile material and produce a finish comprising the particulate component on the surface of the textile material.

摘要： A structural article comprises a substrate having an ionic charge which is coated with a coating having essentially the same ionic charge. The coating consists essentially of a filler material and a binder material. The substrate is preferably fiberglass, the filler is preferably fly ash and the binder material is preferably acrylic latex. The substrate is preferably bonded together using a mixture of urea formaldehyde and standard acrylic. In a preferred embodiment, the coating comprises nearly 85 % of the structural article and fly ash comprises approximately 85 % to 95 % of the coating.

Une très forte humidité peut, plus particulièrement, provoquer la frisure prématurée de ces supports, le disque abrasif enrobé étant alors inutilisable. Le support de cette invention comprend un matériau de liant thermoplastique, résistant à la chaleur et solide, ainsi qu'une quantité efficace d'un matériau de renforcement fibreux qui est réparti dans le matériau de liant thermoplastique. Le matériau de liant thermoplastique, résistant à la chaleur et solide, et le matériau de renforcement fibreux forment une composition durcie qui ne se déforme ou ne se désagrège pratiquement pas lorsqu'on l'utilise.

摘要： A transfer belt (60) for carrying a paper sheet (40) in a papermachine from a press nip in a closed draw to a transfer point, where it is readily released. The belt comprises a supporting base (62) with a particle-filled polymer coating (80) on its paper-facing surface (66), which surface has a pressure-responsive recoverable degree of roughness. During compression in the nip, the surface (66) becomes relatively smooth to allow a thin, almost continuous water film (100) to form between the belt (60) and the sheet (40), which film holds the sheet to the transfer belt as it leaves the nip. Shortly after leaving the nip, the belt surface recovers its uncompressed roughness, breaking up the water film so as to facilitate the release of the sheet from the belt as it reaches the transfer point.
