摘要： An example method of facilitating communication between a mobile device positioned within an internal network and a target peer includes intercepting, at a proxy executing on a mobile device, a communication to initiate a real-time communication connection with a target peer. The mobile device is coupled to a cellular network, and the internal network is separated from one or more external networks by network address translation (NAT). The example method also includes determining whether the target peer is reachable via the cellular network. The example method further includes when it is determined that the target peer is reachable via the cellular network, sending over the cellular network to the target peer a request to communicate in a first protocol.

At a first Traversal Using Relay NAT (TURN) server designated as a relay candidate by a TURN Virtual Internet Platform (VIP), it is determined that a first port allocated by the symmetric NAT for a first request for communication initiated by the first peer and directed to the TURN VIP, is different from a second port allocated by the symmetric NAT for a first packet transmitted from the first peer to the first TURN server, based on a first indication. The second port is mapped to the first port. Using a similar port mapping for the second peer, peer-to-peer communication between the first and second peers is enabled.

The relay server 3 stores the second routing target address in association with a virtual address assigned to the second routing target address. The relay server 3 exchanges address filter information with a relay server 1 belonging to a selected VPN group, and establishes a routing session with the relay server 1. The relay server 3 determines whether or not there is an overlap between the routing target addresses. Upon determination that there is an overlap, the relay server 3 assigns a virtual address to the second routing target address. 摘要： Techniques are provided for detecting network characteristics. At a first endpoint device configured to communicate with a second endpoint device in a network, a request is made to a relay server in a network for an address and port assignment on the relay server. The address and port assignment are obtained from the relay server, and a probing packet is sent at a first time instance to the relay server at an address and port corresponding to the address and port assignment. The first time instance is stored in a timestamp field of the probing packet. A response packet responsive to the probing packet is then received from the address and port on the relay server at a second time instance. The second time instance is stored in a timestamp field of the response packet.
