摘要： A method for mitigating phase pulling in mulitple frequency source system includes generating a first signal, the first signal referred to as an existing signal operating at an existing frequency point, the existing signal having a predefined pulling bandwidth around the existing frequency point. A request is received to generate a prospective signal at a prospective frequency point which is within the predefined pulling bandwidth of the existing signal. The prospective frequency is removed from within the predefined pulling bandwidth, and the prospective and existing signals are generated at the corresponding frequency points.

摘要： An automatic frequency control circuit and an IC of the circuit wherein the loop gain thereof can be varied readily. The automatic frequency control circuit comprises a variable reactance element connected to a resonance circuit of a local oscillation circuit of an FM receiver, an inverting amplifier to which a demodulation output of an FM demodulation circuit of the FM receiver is supplied, a series circuit of a first resistor and a capacitor connected to an output terminal of the inverting amplifier, a second resistor connected between an input terminal of the inverting amplifier and a junction between the first resistor and the capacitor, and a circuit for supplying a voltage obtained at the junction as an automatic frequency control voltage to the variable reactance element. The polarity of the automatic frequency control voltage is varied by selecting the value of the second resistor. When the automatic frequency control circuit is formed as an IC, the capacitor and the second resistor are formed as elements for external connection.

摘要： A zero-IF radio receiver circuit comprises an input filter (3), quadrature mixers (9,10), d.c.-blocking capacitors (24,26) and a demodulator (22). The circuit is partly integrated on a semiconductor chip and an inductive component of the input filter comprises one or more of the chip bond-wires. In order to compensate for the inevitable variation of the inductance of these bond-wires from circuit to circuit part of the signal from the local oscillator (12) is added to the input signal before its application to the input filter and the d.c. component of the resulting output from one mixer (10), which component is representative of the phase shift of the local oscillator signal produced by the input filter and hence of any tuning error of this filter, is applied to a tuning control input (30) of the filter to reduce the error. Alternatively the tuning control signal may be adjusted to maximise the sum of the squares of the d.c. components of the signals in the two IF channels and hence minimise the attenuation produced by the input filter.

摘要： A notch filter (3) is provided with an ancillary circuit (12) including a non-inverting amplifier (14) and a coupling (13) which enables the filter to form part of a oscillatory loop of which the frequency of oscillation corresponds to the frequency of maximum rejection by the notch filter. Measurement of that frequency facilitates the tuning of the notch filter, which includes capacitors constituted by varactor diodes (6, 6a). The gain of the ancillary circuit may be adjusted to change its mode of operation from oscillation to that of a tuned amplifier so that a sweep of the centre frequency of the notch filter through a range of interest facilitates a search for an unknown interfering frequency and the simultaneous tuning of the notch filter to reject that interference.

摘要： A multiple frequency source system includes at least one frequency source tunable to a predefined target frequency, and at least one additional frequency source operable to generate a second signal at a frequency which is either higher or lower than the target frequency. A method for tuning the tunable frequency source to the target frequency during concurrent generation of the second signal includes (i) controlling the tunable frequency source to tune to at least one frequency point frequency lower than the target frequency, and thereafter controlling the oscillator to tune to the target frequency, when the second signal is higher in frequency than the target frequency, or (ii) controlling the tunable frequency source to tune to at least one frequency point higher than the target frequency, and thereafter controlling the tunable frequency source to tune to the target frequency, when the second signal is lower in frequency than the target frequency.
