摘要： Methods and systems are provided for frequency generation suitable for use in wireless devices capable of operating at multiple frequencies. Such systems may change the loop gain of an automatic frequency control loop based on the operating frequency of the wireless device. Furthermore, such a frequency dependent loop gain may be carried out by the selection of subroutines with differing loop gains associated with the subroutines. Furthermore, the loop gain may also be temperature compensated based on the temperature of the wireless device and/or the operating frequency of the device.

摘要： Fast recovery is provided from transient loss of a received carrier in a satellite or terrestrial modem. A carrier tracking loop, loop filter and steering loop are provided in the modem. The occurrence of a transient condition affecting the carrier tracking loop is detected. The loop filter is flushed in response to the transient detection for a time period dependent upon an anticipated length of the transient condition. A voltage of the loop filter is steered toward a predetermined pre-transient value during the flushing step to minimize any change in frequency of the carrier tracking loop when the loop filter is flushed. After the filter has been flushed, the carrier tracking loop attempts to quickly reacquire the carrier.

摘要： A technique to provide hybrid compensation to correct for drifts in a reference frequency output from a digitally-controlled crystal oscillator (DCXO). A first compensation is provided to the DCXO to adjust for overlap or discontinuity of the reference frequency caused by switching capacitors in the capacitor array that controls drift of the reference frequency output. The second compensation is obtained at a phase-locked loop (PLL) that receives the reference frequency signal from the DCXO. The second compensation adjusts the PLL to adjust for variations of the reference frequency that remain after performing compensation in the DCXO.
