    • An X-ray generation apparatus (10) has a housing (12) comprising an evacuated envelope (14) with a rotatable anode target (20) surrounded by an all metal grounded exterior structure and a cooling system. The cooling system comprises a coolant circulating system with heat exchanger and means for circulating a fluid coolant through an interior of the X-ray generating apparatus; a hollow shield structure (22) with center aperture for passing electron beam; and a cooling block (27) which is disposed proximate to the rotatable anode target and comprises a disk with a plurality of concentric annular channels formed by concentric annular partitions. The shield structure and the disk of the cooling block are made of thermally conductive material. An interior of the shield structure is filled with structures such as pins (35), fins (32) or pack bed (36) which are made of thermally conductive materials. The fluid coolant is circulated through the shield structure, then into the plurality of channels of the cooling block and via an interior of the housing to the heat exchanger for efficient cooling of the X-ray generating apparatus.

    • The invention relates to an X-ray generator (100) with a compact construction produced using simple resources, suitable for emitting a very high radiation output, even over longer time periods, said generator containing: a high-emission thermal low-temperature cathode (101) for emitting an electron beam (102); a rotary anode (107) comprising an anode plate (106), said rotary anode being rotatably guided in a bearing assembly (114) about an axis of rotation (115), the bearing assembly having a liquid-metal sliding bearing (123) between a bearing part (120) connected to the rotary anode and a bearing shaft (122); an electron focussing device (108) for focussing the electron beam on a focal track (109) along a surface of the anode plate; and a condensation cooling assembly designed with a first coolant which is present between the focal track and the bearing part of the rotary anode and with a configuration of the bearing shaft that allows the passage of a second coolant. The first coolant is encapsulated in a gas-tight manner by a constructive connection formed between the focal track and the bearing part at least of the anode plate and the liquid-metal sliding bearing forms a thermal-conduction element for transferring thermal energy between the first coolant and the second coolant.

    • The present invention relates to X-ray generating technology in general, in particular, it relates to an anode disk element (1) for an X-ray generating device (21). The generation of electromagnetic radiation may be considered to be quite inefficient, since a substantial part of energy applied to a focal track is converted to heat rather than X-radiation. Thus, a limiting factor in the operation of X-ray tubes is the cooling of the anode element and more specifically the focal track. In the present invention, an anode disk element is provided, with an improved dissipation of heat from the focal track. Thus, the anode disk element may sustain increased heat while maintaining structural integrity. The anode disk element (1) comprises at least a first surface (2) and a second surface (3), with the first surface (2) comprising a focal track (4) and the second surface (3) comprising a conductive coating (5). The anode disk element (1) is rotatable about a rotational axis (6) with the focal track (4) being rotationally symmetrical to the rotational axis (6). The first surface (2) comprising the focal track (4) and the second surface (3) comprising the conductive coating (5) are adjacently arranged.
