    • The invention relates to a transmission mechanism and push-button module of a personal electronic measuring device. The transmission mechanism comprises: a transmission element for transmitting a pushing force provided by the user to an internal switch of a personal electronic measuring device at the extreme switch position of the transmission element; and a domed spring structure for directing a return force opposite to the pushing force provided by the user to the transmission element, the domed spring structure comprising support areas and being operationally connected from one support area to the transmission element and from another support area to a structure supporting the domed spring structure and having a collapsing phase that occurs close to the extreme switch position and provides a sudden reduction in the return force which the user can sense and which thus verifies the change in the state of the internal switch.

    • A multi-contact input device for inputting various kinds of signals comprises an operating member 30 which is pressed to actuate a central switch 51 and inclined to actuate peripheral switches 52 provided around the central switch.

Central switch 51 is protected from damage because, if operating member 30 is pushed harder towards central switch 51 when it has already been actuated, rod 32 retracts into body 31 against the force of spring 33. The maximum force experienced by central switch 51 is the force of spring 33.

    • A switch device including an operating member which is rockably stopped by a case, a rubber spring including four spring sections which are disposed at peripheral edges of the operating member inside the case, respectively, and three switches which are disposed in correspondence with three of the four spring sections. The spring sections are selectively actuated two at a time as a result of rocking the operating member in one direction. In the switch device, the spring sections are actuated and buckled by operating the operating member in order to switch the switches. In addition, the click ratio of the spring section which is not provided with a switch is greater than the click ratios of the spring sections which are provided with the switches.
      In a conventional switch device, one or two switches are actuated depending on which portion of an operating member is pressed. Therefore, differences in the clicking characteristics are produced. This gives rise to the problem that an operator which operates the operating member experiences a different tactile feel when operating the operating member. The invention provides a switch device which provides uniform operability.
