摘要： In a recording method for a rewritable optical recording medium, immediately before a prospective leading pulse (1) that is a time section where recording light of write power Pw irradiates a phase-change recording layer for the first time as a front low-power energy irradiating step, light of bias power Pb irradiates the phase-change recording layer for a first set time length yT as a preceding low-power energy irradiation step. And immediately after the leading pulse (1), the light of bias power Pb irradiates the phase-change recording layer for a set time length xT as a succeeding low-power energy irradiation step. The relation between x and y satisfies : 0.95 ‰¦ x+0.7ˆ—y ‰¦ 2.5. The high-power energy beam irradiates the recording medium in such a manner that a period of irradiation for pulses subsequent to the leading pulse (1) is in a range of from 0.5T to 2.5T. The result is that it is possible to facilitate forming/erasing amorphous marks even in a phase-change recording medium devoid of a reflective layer, without any risk of narrowing the range of effective crystallization speeds.

摘要： This invention provides a process for producing a high-density optical disk which can suppress the occurrence of cloud derived from sticking in mold, can prevent a deterioration in hue and light transmittance and has excellent optical properties. The production process is characterized by comprising the steps of (1) providing a resin composition prepared by adding a predetermined amount of monoglyceride behenate to an aromatic polycarbonate resin, (2) injection molding the resin composition to prepare a substrate, and (3) forming an information recording/reproducing layer on the substrate, the aromatic polycarbonate resin having a sodium metal content of 0.0005 to 0.05 ppm and a viscosity average molecular weight of 10,000 to 20,000, the monoglyceride behenate having a sodium metal content of not more than 1 ppm.

摘要： An optical information recording medium comprises: (a) a substrate; and (b) a phase-change recording layer (B) containing a crystalline part as an unrecorded/erased state and an amorphous part as a recorded state. Information is recorded by using recording marks whose shortest length is at most 0.5 mu m. Either (1) erasure is effected by recrystallization substantially progressed by the growth of crystals from the boundary between the amorphous part or a fused part and the peripheral crystal part; or (2) (B) comprises a thin film with main components of germanium (Ge), antimony (Sb) and tellurium (Te), and at a fixed line speed, the recording layer is irradiated continuously with recording light of sufficient power (Pw) to melt the recording layer and generally recrystallize it and then this is interrupted and amorphous marks formed; or (3) on the substrate, in order from the recording regeneration light irradiation direction, are provided a first protective layer, the layer (B), a 5-30 nm thick second protective layer, and a reflecting layer, the thickness of (B) is 5-25 nm, and (B) is a thin film comprising a main component of a germanium- antimony-tellurium (GeSbTe) alloy having a composition shown by the region enclosed by 4 lines, A, B, C and D (excluding the boundary lines), where A is the line joining (Sb 0.7Te 0.3) and Ge, B is the line joining (Ge 0.03Sb 0.68Te 0.29) and (Sb 0.95Ge 0.05), C is the line joining (Sb 0.9Ge 0.1) and (Te 0.9Ge 0.1), and D is the line joining (Sb 0.8Te 0.2) and Ge.
