摘要： In an information processing apparatus, a calculation unit retrieves data that indicates processing periods of processes executed in each time window constituting an analysis period. The calculation unit then calculates a total processing time for each time window by adding up processing times spent for execution of processes. The calculation unit also calculates a total progress quantity for each time window by adding up progress quantities of the processes. A determination unit determines, based on the total processing time and total progress quantity of each time window, a threshold of the total processing times at which the ratio of an increase of the total progress quantity to an increase of the total processing time is equal to or smaller than a predetermined value. A detection unit detects time windows whose total processing times are equal to or longer than the threshold.

摘要： A method of analysing streams of metric data from a plurality of data processing sources (2) in a parallel processing system (1), using a computer (6). Each stream includes time stamped data associated with the respective data processing source in respect of a given metric which is sampled at intervals. For each stream of data, a start time and an end time are identified. A normalized start time and a normalized end time are determined across all streams. Sampling points are specified between the normalized start time and the normalized end time. For each stream of data, the data is re-sampled at the specified sampling points. For each sampling point, the re-sampled data across all the streams of data is processed to determine a statistical derivative of the data. A report is displayed which represents the values of the statistical derivative as a function of time. The process may be applied to various different metrics, and the results displayed at the same time, on a common time axis.

摘要： A computer monitoring system may predict near term and long term performance by comparing a segment of current time series data with previously observed time series to find matching segments. From a matching segment, a prediction of performance may be made by examining later observations in the time series. Each time series element may include a large number of parameters, and one mechanism for comparing segments may be treating the elements as multi-dimensional vectors and using cosine similarity for finding significant matches. A deployment mechanism may store time series segments in a searchable database, and search the database with a newly observed time series segment for matches.

The messages may contain data consumed by a function or other computational element, and may be used to launch or spawn various computational elements. One visualization may be a force directed graph that has each function as a node, with messages passed as edges of the graph. In some embodiments, the edges may display the number of messages, quantity of data, or other metric by showing the edges as wider or thinner, or by changing the color of the displayed edge. The nodes may be illustrated with different colors, size, or shape to show different aspects. Some embodiments may have a mechanism for storing and playing back changes to the graph over time.
