    • A control mechanism having an adjustable lever (17) supported by at least one plate (20, 22) for rotation in a plane generally parallel to said plate (20, 22). A handle (16) is provided at the outer end of the lever (17). A glide element (50) is captured within the lever (17) to extend beyond the side of the lever (17) facing the plates (20, 22). The glide element (50) is mounted to engage the facing side of the plate (20, 22) under slight compression to provide a constant resistive force as the lever (17) is rotated from one end to the other of its required travel. The glide element (50) under slight compression acts as a damped spring and can be considered a precision fixed-force brake.

    • A housing (12, 14) has a pivot member (20) rotatably mounted therein on a pivot pin (16). A pair of members (38, 40) are pivotally mounted on the pivot pin (16) adjacent opposite sides of the pivot member (20). The first member (38) is frictionally coupled (48,52,54) to the housing. The other member (40) is biased to a neutral position by a centering spring (66, 68). A cross arm (74,75) movable in the pivot member (20) to alternately couple and uncouple one or the other of the said pair of members (38, 40) from the pivot member, depending upon the energization state of a mode-select solenoid (24). A detent follower releasably holds the pivot member in a displaced position when in the spring-centered mode. A rotary potentiometer coupled to the pivot member generates an electrical signal representing the position of the pivot member (20) and a lever handle (26) attached thereto.

    • Die Erfindung betrifft eine Bedieneinrichtung, insbesondere für Bedieneinheiten in Fahrgasträumen in Kraftfahrzeugen. Die erfindungsgemäße Bedieneinrichtung besteht aus einem stationären Element und einem gegenüber dem stationären Element beweglich gelagerten bzw. beweglich angeordneten Element, wobei das beweglich gelagerte Element bzw. beweglich angeordnete Element gegenüber dem stationären Element entlang des stationären Elements verschiebbar oder gegenüber dem stationären Element drehbar ist. Es ist ein Federelement zwischen dem beweglich gelagerten Element und dem stationären Element, diese Elemente gegeneinander abstützend, angeordnet. Das Federelement ist an dem beweglich gelagerten Element oder dem stationären Element über eine Federaufnahmeeinheit an einem Stößel angebunden. Das Federelement berührt mit seiner der Federaufnahmeeinheit gegenüberliegenden Seite eine angeordnete Gleitfläche. Das Federelement erzeugt eine Andruckkraft. Diese entsteht zwischen dem Federelement und dem beweglich gelagerten Element oder dem stationären Element. Die Federaufnahmeeinheit ist auf einem Stößel angeordnet, der an der dem Federelement gegenüberliegenden Seite auf einem Keil aufliegt, wobei der Keil gegenüber dem Stößel verschiebbar ist, so dass die Andruckkraft des Federelements in Abhängigkeit von der Stellung des Keils gegenüber dem Stößel veränderbar ist.
