    • The present application discloses a fuel system for a gas turbine engine (10). The engine (10) comprises a main alternating current electrical generator (118) driven by an engine shaft (26, 28, 30) such that the electrical output frequency of the electrical generator (118) varies in dependence on shaft (26, 28, 30) rotational speed. The fuel system comprises a variable flow fuel pump (110) for providing a fuel flow to the engine, a frequency and / or voltage controller (114) configured to provide electrical power having at least one of a predetermined output frequency and a predetermined voltage, and a variable speed electric motor (112) configured to drive the fuel pump (110). The electric motor (112) comprises an induction motor having a stator (152) and at least a first rotor (150), the stator (152) having first and second sets (156, 158) of stator windings.     • A method and an apparatus for controlling a displacement-type fluid machine which handles fluid including gas and/or liquid for increasing or decreasing pressure of the fluid or transporting the fluid, comprising: provision of an alternating current motor for driving the displacement-type fluid machine; and provision of a frequency converter which is capable of conducting frequency conversion up to a range higher than the power source frequency to adjust the number of revolutions of the motor; wherein the number of revolutiong is adjusted so that input current to the motor is kept constant, regardless of any change in operating pressure of the displacement-type fluid machine, whereby the displacement-type fluid machine is operated maintaining the process values within an allowable limit without effecting repeated actuation and stopping of the machine.
