    • A high pressure fuel pump having a variable fuel injection rate, including a pump body, a pump cylinder formed in the pump body and a piston reciprocable within the pump cylinder, which defines a pressurization chamber (120). The pump piston (106) has a reduced diameter portion which provides a primary piston (112). A piston annulus is slidably mounted thereon and provides a secondary piston (116). An annular actuation chamber (122) adjoins the secondary piston (116) opposite the pressurization chamber (120). An actuation passage (124) is provided between a return fuel drain and the ctuation chamber (122), which is selectively open or closed passively by pump piston (106) movement and/or dynamically by operation of an actuation solenoid valve (128). If the actuation chamber passage (124) is open, then during the pressurization stroke the secondary piston (116) will remain stationary relative to the pump body, but if it is closed then the secondary piston (116) must stroke in unison with the primary piston (112).

    • The invention relates to a piston pump (10), especially for use in a slip-regulated hydraulic vehicle braking system. The aim of the invention is to increase a volume displaced by the piston pump (10) at low displacement pressure. To this end, a body (24, 26; 92, 94, 96), preferably a ring body, is mounted on the piston (18) in such a way that it can be axially displaced. Said ring body enlarges the cross-sectional area of the piston and is impinged upon axially by an elastic element (34). Under low pressure, the piston pump (10) displaces a medium using the entire cross-sectional area of the piston (18) and the body (24, 26). Under high pressure, the body (24, 26; 92, 94, 96) is retained against the force of the elastic element (34) instead of moving with the piston (18) so that the piston (18) displaces the medium using its own cross-sectional area only. The inventive piston pump (10) has the advantage of being better able to build up pressure when the displacement pressure is low at the beginning of a displacement.

    • A reciprocating low-speed heavy-load hydraulic pump with a variable action area comprises a plurality of hydraulic cylinder units (3) and moving members (1, 2). Two ends of the hydraulic cylinder units (3) are separately connected with the moving members (1, 2) via mechanical structures. The moving members (1, 2) move relative to each other. The hydraulic cylinder unit (3) consists of a hydraulic cylinder (4), a reversing valve (5) and a one-way valve (6). The hydraulic cylinder (4), the reversing valve (5) and the one-way valve (6) are connected with each other via hydraulic pipelines. Based on different magnitudes of driving force, the hydraulic pump can proactively configure and form different combinations of hydraulic cylinder units, and further adjust the size of an equivalent action area. Therefore, even if the magnitude of the driving force changes, it can be ensured that the hydraulic pump consisting of hydraulic cylinder units outputs oil liquid with a relatively stable pressure for use by a subsequently connected system. The reciprocating low-speed heavy-load hydraulic pump with a variable action area is advantageous in high conversion efficiency, a simple system structure and good working stability.
