In a leaver lace machine having a carriage accommodating a bobbin with a length of bobbin thread wound thereabout and having also a catch bar selectively assuming an engaged posture for engaging the carriage for moving the carriage back and forth across beam warp threads and a non-engaged posture not engaged with the carriage, the catch bar comprises a catch bar body (38) fixed to a catch bar operation controlling mechanism, a metal core (35) fastened and fixed to the catch bar body with a fastener, and a resin cover (36) fixedly clamped between said catch bar body (33) and said metal core (35) and the resin cover (36) includes a press-engaging portion (37) to be pressed against and engaged with an engaging portion of said carriage.
