摘要： The present invention relates to a method for preparing a primary preform by etching and collapsing a deposited tube, the method comprising the steps of * mounting a deposited tube on a lathe and introducing the deposited tube into a central aperture of a furnace mounted on the lathe wherein the furnace and the deposited tube are movable in axial direction with respect to each other; * creating within the furnace a hot zone that moves in translation back and forth over the length of the tube during one or more cycles wherein: - during at least one cycle at least part of the outside of the deposited tube is etched by supplying a fluorine-containing etching gas to an annular region between the outer surface of the deposited tube and the central aperture of the furnace; and - during at least one cycle the deposited tube is collapsed; in order to obtain a primary preform. The present invention moreover leads to a preform and optical fibers obtained therefrom.

摘要： A hydraulic tool includes a stator, a rotor, and a removable coating. At least one of the stator and the rotor comprises a resilient material. The removable coating has a thickness selected to compensate for expected swelling of the resilient material or an expected contraction of a clearance between the rotor and the stator based on thermal expansion. The removable coating is disposed on a surface of at least one of the rotor and the stator, and the removable coating is formulated to be removed during operation of the hydraulic tool. A method of operating a hydraulic tool includes passing a fluid through the hydraulic tool during rotation of the rotor within the stator and removing at least a portion of the removable coating responsive to rotation of the rotor within the stator as a volume of the resilient material increases responsive to contact with the fluid passing through the hydraulic fluid.

This plasma processing method comprises a film formation step, a plasma processing step, and a removal step. In the film formation step, a silicon-containing film is formed on the surface of a member within a chamber by means of plasmas of a silicon-containing gas and a reducing gas. In the plasma processing step, an object to be processed introduced into the chamber is plasma-processed by means of a plasma of a processing gas after the formation of the silicon-containing film on the surface of the member. In the removal step, the silicon-containing film is removed from the surface of the member by means of a plasma of a fluorine-containing gas after the plasma-processed object is carried out of the chamber.
