    • The present invention relates to an isocyanate-modified epoxy resin having a structure of Formula (I): in Formula (I), R is selected from divalent organic groups; n is an integer greater than or equal to zero; in Y, R 1 , R 2 , R 3 , R 4 , R 18 , R 19 , R 20 , R 21 are independently selected from organic groups; X is nothingness or is selected from divalent organic groups; and R 1 , R 2 , R 3 , R 4 , R 18 , R 19 , R 20 , R 21 are not hydrogen atoms at the same time. The epoxy resin of the present invention utilizes polyisocyanate containing more than 2 cyanate groups as a raw material for preparation and reacts it with resin monomer having epoxy group, thereby achieving the purpose of introducing oxazolidinonyl into epoxy resin monomer; in addition, the epoxy resin of the present invention is terminated by epoxy groups, making the provided epoxy resin components have high heat resistance and low dielectric properties.

    • An epoxy oxazolidone including the reaction product of (a) a divinylarene dioxide, and (b) an excess of a polyisocyanate to provide an epoxy oxazolidone composition; wherein the composition has an oxazolidone selectivity of greater than 40 % relative to the total of the carbonyl compounds; a process for making the epoxy oxazolidone; and a curable epoxy resin composition including (i) the epoxy oxazolidone derived from a divinylarene dioxide such as divinylbenzene dioxide (DVBDO) and a polyisocyanate, (ii) at least one curing agent; and/or (iii) a catalyst. The cured product made from the above epoxy resin composition is thermally stable and offers improved properties such as a lower viscosity and a high heat resistance compared to known cured products prepared from known epoxy resins.
