    • The invention relates to a device (30) for extracting and transferring high‑temperature granular mineral materials contained in a first chamber comprising a fixed upper part (32) and a mobile lower part (34) delimiting a duct (36), the mobile lower part (34) being movable in a given direction (50) between a forward position and a recoiled position and vice versa, so as to allow the granular mineral materials to flow in the duct (36). The device further comprises means (78, 80) for moving and guiding the mobile part (34) relative to the fixed part (32). The fixed part (32) and the mobile part (34) each comprise an outer jacket (38; 58) made of metal, and an inner jacket (40; 60) made by stacking at least a first coating (42; 62) made of a thermally insulating material mounted on the metal outer jacket (38; 58) and a second coating (44; 64) made of a refractory material mounted on the first coating (42; 62).

    • Heating of a tertiary air stream of a cement clinker plant may be obtained by forming a clinker bed on a grate floor in a combustion chamber of a combustor. The clinker bed can be loaded with a layer of fuel, for example low grade fuels like biofuel or pieces of rubber or plastic. The fuel is burnt or subjected to pyrolysis by providing at least a part of the tertiary air stream via the grate floor and/or via separate gas-ducting elements above the grate floor to the clinker bed and the fuel residing on the clinker bed. Thereby the clinker bed and the fuel are heated at least until the fuel is subjected to pyrolysis and possibly ignites. The tertiary air stream or at least a part of it is drawn off the combustion chamber and provided to the calciner. In case the fuel burns, the tertiary air stream is heated. The non-burnt product gas produced by pyrolysis of the fuel becomes a part of the tertiary air stream and may be burnt partly on its way to the calciner or at least in the calciner.
