摘要： Controlling the motion of a load suspended from a vessel to decouple it from the vessel motion, comprising: a) measuring vessel motion data for a first time period; b) measuring a performance parameter of an actuator; c) generating a predicted motion model of the vessel for a subsequent second time period from the motion data, and generating a predicted performance parameter of the actuator for the second time period; d) generating a control algorithm for the actuator to effect a predetermined response during the second time period using the predicted motion model and the predicted performance parameter; e) determining a first correction factor from differences between motion data and the predicted motion model and a second correction factor from differences between the actuator performance parameter and predicted performance parameter; f) repeating steps a e iteratively utilising the first and second correction factors. The actuator may be a winch. The performance parameter of the actuator may be a deviation from a predefined standard performance parameter such as the inertia, speed, acceleration or position of the actuator, the coupling force on the actuator from the load, or the response time of the actuator to implement a control signal.

摘要： Heave compensator for heavy lifts with adjustable dampening characteristics able to operate above and below the water line in environmental pressures ranging from the atmospheric up to several hundred atmospheres pressure, and further to a method for automatic regulation of the available stroke length of the heave compensator during the lifting operation, based on the realization that heave compensating devices utilising a slide-able piston as a volume expanding mechanism to reduce the tension forces upon relative movements between crane and load, may obtain a simple compact construction able to execute a range of different compensation functionalities by registering the pressure and temperature in the gas filled chambers of the device, and employing this information to regulate the amount of gas in the single gas filled chambers.

摘要： The present invention relates to a monohull vessel with a heavy lift crane. The crane (20) comprises a jib (24), which has a reach beyond the hull of the vessel and hoisting means for hoisting a load. The vessel is provided with a water ballast system, and further comprises an active roll damping mechanism. According to the present invention, the active roll damping mechanism comprises a solid roll damping ballast (110) which is movable in the transverse direction of the hull, a sensor detecting the rolling motion of the hull, and a drive and control system (115) operable to cause and control the movements of the solid roll damping ballast in response to the detections of the sensor to provide roll stabilization.
