    • A deflector apparatus for a vehicle includes a lower frame (22) fixed to a roof (10) of a vehicle and a fitting recess (22a). A facing (21) is held by the lower frame (22) and the upper frame (23), the facing (21) protrudes above a surface of the roof (10) in association with an upward movement of the upper frame (23), the facing (21) is folded towards a rear side and retracted in association with a downward movement of the upper frame (23). A guide member (30) includes a fitting protrusion (31) fitted in the fitting recess (22a) and elastically recovering to guide the facing (21) to be folded at a retracting movement of the facing (21). A restriction wall (14) restricts the guide member (30) from moving such that a movable distance (L2) of the guide member (30) in a counter-insertion direction of the fitting protrusion (31) is a distance that is shorter than an insertion amount (L1) of the fitting protrusion (31) relative to the fitting recess (22a).

    • In a deflector device for a sunroof device, a pair of arm members (7) extend in a fore and aft direction along a corresponding side edge of the roof opening (2), and are each pivotally supported by a fixed roof panel part at a rear end thereof for a vertical tiling motion, and a blade (6) extends laterally between front ends of the arm members adjacent to a front edge of the opening. A link member (13, 13') is pivotally connected to a fixed roof part at a base end thereof, and engaged by an intermediate part of each arm member at a free end thereof so that the free end may be moveable relatively to the arm member along a lengthwise direction of the arm member, and a coil spring (15, 15', 16, 16') is connected between the free end of the link member and a part of the arm member so as to urge the arm member in an upward direction. Thereby, the blade can be supported in the deployed or raised position with an adequate spring force while avoiding the spring force required to put the blade into the fully retracted position from becoming excessive. Each arm member may consist of a channel member so that the coil spring can be conveniently concealed within the arm member.

    • A roof assembly for a vehicle comprises a stationary part (3) and at least one rigid panel (4) movably supported by the stationary part through an operating mechanism. The panel is movable between a closed position, in which it closes the opening in the fixed roof, and a rear position, in which it is moved with its rear side upwardly and slid rearwardly. A downwardly extending side cover (8) is connected to side edges of said panel (4) and to the stationary part. The side cover hides the operating mechanism from a side view and has front and rear ends. The guide rail is adapted to guide the side cover in vertical and lateral directions.
