    • The invention relates to a punching press with a clamping plate (27) and with a press ram (1) which lies opposite the upper side of the clamping plate (27) and operates towards the clamping plate (27) and is moveable up and down via four tension columns (2) by means of a crank drive arranged below the belt movement plane (X) of the punching press. The press ram (1) is guided exclusively via the tension columns (2) which, in turn, are guided in inclination-tolerant guides (3) in the belt movement plane (X) in such a manner that the press ram (1) and the tension columns (2) can be positioned obliquely as a consequence of differing longitudinal expansion of the tension columns (2) under an eccentric load by the tension columns (2) being inclined about axes of inclination running in the region of the belt movement plane (X) of the punching press. By means of the configuration according to the invention, distortion of the punching press under an eccentric load, which would lead to uncontrollable operating conditions during the punching and a high degree of wear at the guides of the machine, is avoided, and it can be ensured that, in the event of a possible skewed position of the ram, no tool offset, which would result in a high degree of tool wear or even in tool fracture, occurs.

    • A press machine includes a frame, a first crankshaft (16) rotated by a driving source, a second crankshaft (20) connected with a slide (22), and a connection mechanism (28) provided with a pair of levers (32, 34) connected with each other so as to carry out their bending-stretching motion as the first crankshaft is rotated. One lever (32) has a first pivot and is connected, through the first pivot, with a position adjusting device (38, 60) for adjusting the position of the first pivot in the vertical or horizontal direction. The other lever (34) has a second pivot and is connected, through the second pivot, with the eccentric shaft portion (20b) of the second crankshaft (20). The slide (22) is connected with other eccentric shaft portion (20c) of the second crankshaft.

    • An apparatus capable of quickly and accurately switching the slide stroke in two stages without changing the die height. One form of the apparatus includes an eccentric portion (11) of a crankshaft (10) and an eccentric sheave (20) which are disposed in such a manner as to be eccentric in the same direction. Holes (11V, 21, 23, 4) having axes intersecting the crankshaft (10) axis are formed in the eccentric portion (11), the eccentric sheave (20) and a con'rod (3), and are combined in such a manner that those holes of the eccentric portion (11) and the eccentric sheave (20) are coaxial with each other and those holes of the con'rod (3) and the eccentric sheave (20) are coaxial with each other. First lock pins (12, 16) are movably received in the hole (11V) of the eccentric portion (11), while second lock pins (5) are movably received in the hole (4) of the con'rod (3). The first and second lock pins (12, 16, 5) are selectively engaged with the corresponding holes (21, 23, 4) to adjust the stroke of the con'rod (3). In another form, the stroke of a con'rod (103) is adjusted by a structure including a divided eccentric sheave (120) fitted on a crank-pin portion (114) provided between a pair of arm portions (112, 113) integral with a crankshaft (111), and a ring member (130) fitted on the eccentric sheave (120).
