摘要： A radial seal is described for use in a filtration system having annular elements. The rings or annuli fit in a groove in an outer surface of a seal plate. Each annulus has an outer diameter larger than the inner diameter of a cylindrical housing of the filtration system. A gap in the annulus has a width selected to enable the annular element to deform sufficiently to permit insertion of the at least one annulus into the cylindrical housing. Two or more annuli can be configured such that the gaps of the annuli are misaligned when both annuli are installed in the groove, thereby minimizing leakage in operation. A registration system includes a registration element that cooperates with a registration element of the other annulus to ensure misalignment of the gaps of the pair of annuli.

At least two sensors of an electric conductivity sensor (11), a flow rate sensor (13), and a pressure sensor (15) are provided in at least two membrane elements (10) provided in a membrane filtering device (50). A managing device (200) obtains data from the at least two sensors, and compares the data with comparison data that represents a correlative relationship between a position along the axial line direction in the membrane filtering device (50) and a standard value obtained from the at least two sensors. Accordingly, it is possible to specify the cause of changes occurring in the membrane filtering device (50) more definitely, and to carry out a suitable maintenance in accordance with the cause, so that the membrane filtering device (50) can be managed with a higher precision.

摘要： A tubular pressure vessel (11) for cross-flow filtration having a central inlet (21), in the form of one or two side ports that penetrate the sidewall, leading to a central chamber that divides the pressure vessel bore (15) into two axially separated sections that each contain a plurality of cylindrical, cross-flow filtration cartridges (25). A feedstream entering the pressure vessel (11) flows in both axial directions, creating two permeate streams and concentrate streams, the latter of which exit through horizontal side ports (23) located near each end of the pressure vessel. When a pair of diametrically opposed, central side ports (21) are used, they may be provided through the use of short length of tubing (63) that provides structural stability to the overall pressure vessel arrangement. By interconnecting such side inlets (21) in adjacent pressure vessels in a vertical stack, a single feed line (77) can supply multiple pressure vessels. When an array of such stacks is used, horizontal side outlet ports (23') for the concentrate streams can be likewise interconnected to provide combined concentrate outlet streams.

摘要： Fluid treatment arrangements and elements and methods for making and using fluid treatment arrangements are disclosed. A ribbon including a permeable fluid treatment medium may be spirally wound in a plurality of windings to form a fluid treatment element having a disk-shaped body. For some embodiments, the ribbon may comprise a composite having first and second layers. Up to one hundred or more fluid treatment elements may be positioned along a core assembly with spaces between at least some of the adjacent fluid treatment elements. Posts may be located in some of the spaces and may be bonded to the adjacent fluid treatment elements. Bands may encircle some of the spaces to block radial fluid flow into or out of the spaces. A fluid treatment arrangement may be contained in a housing to form a fluid treatment assembly. The housing may include an inlet port and an outlet port and may define a fluid flow path between the inlet port and the outlet port. The fluid treatment arrangement may be positioned in the housing across the fluid flow path.

摘要： A fluid separation element assembly comprises a fluid separation element having a membrane unit and a wrapping material formed around the membrane unit, an anti-telescoping plate attached to at least one end of the fluid separation element at a condition free to be detached, and a feed water seal member for preventing feed water from leaking through a gap between the fluid separation element and the anti-telescoping plate. The membrane unit is formed by a separation membrane, a permeate carrier material and a feed carrier material which are spirally wound around a permeate collection tube. By providing the anti-telescoping plate detachably, when the separation membrane has reached its life, it is possible to reuse other members. By providing the feed water seal member, it is possible to ensure a large diameter of the fluid separation element as well as to appropriately prevent leakage of feed water into a gap between a pressure vessel and the fluid separation element, thereby increasing the amount of treated water and improving the quality of the treated water.
