摘要： A wheelchair comprising: three or more ground- engaging wheels; and a user seat, the user seat forming a structural member or monocoque on which the ground- engaging wheels are supported; wherein at least one of the wheels is connected to the seat by a support member, the length of the support member being adjustable during use. Also provided is a wheelchair or other wheeled vehicle, wherein at least one ground- engaging wheel is connected to a pivotable hub, and the said wheel is adjustable. Also provided is a wheelchair, wherein a ground-engaging wheel on each side of the wheelchair is provided with a brake. Also provided is a wheelchair or other wheeled vehicle in which one or more ground- engaging wheels are provided with ratchet means. A coupling arrangement for releasably joining two structural members is also provided. Also provided is a wheelchair including a rear castor with a detent mechanism.

摘要： The hub drive comprises a direct current motor arranged inside the hub (N), comprising a gear mechanism (G) connecting a shaft (18) of the rotor (R) to the housing of the hub (9). A shaft (1) can be detachably fixed to a frame of the small vehicle. An electromagnetic brake (B) arranged in the hub acts upon the gear mechanism (G) via the shaft (18) of the rotor (R). The gear mechanism (G) is embodied in such a way that it is non-inhibiting and the brake (B) can be unlocked by hand or electronically. 摘要： A progressive mechanical braking and blocking device (10) comprising a body having an upper housing (11a) and a lower housing (11b). The upper housing (11a) contains a central node (12) fixed to a shaft (13) which axially extends through the housing and which is arranged to be coupled with a rotating mechanism. The central node (12) is provided with bores (14, 15) arranged to receive two series of pins (14a, 15a) respectively solicited by urging springs (14b, 15b), the urging force of which is adjustable with screws (14c, 15c). The lower housing (11b) contains an axially mobile central piece (16) in a coaxial cavity arranged in the lower housing (11b). The central piece (16) is provided with a series of notches (21) provided opposite to the head of a series of pins and arranged to cooperate with the pin head (15a) of this series of pins to provide a breaking function for the device (10), and of a series of housings (22) arranged opposite the pin head (14a) of this other pin series to provide a blocking function for the device (10).

摘要： A wheelchair 1 is adapted for one handed operation by incorporation of a foot operated steering means that allows a user to steer a steerable castor 6 by swivelling a footplate 8. A drive means 15 between footplate 8 and the steerable castor 6 is adapted to translate an angle of swivel of the footplate 8 about a swivelling axis 14 to a greater angle of rotation of the steerable castor 6 about a steering axis 21. Typically the ratio of footplate swivel to steerable castor rotation is around 1:2. The wheelchair 1 also has a drive wheel 3 incorporating a differential 41 that allows both drive wheels 3, 4 of the wheelchair 1 to be driven from just one hand rim 42. The drive wheel 3 has a brake 59 for locking the differential 41 such that the wheelchair 1 can pirouette on the spot. Both the differential 41 and the brake 59 are incorporated in a quick release arrangement, such that the drive wheel 3 can be easily removed from the wheelchair 1 for transport and stowage.
