    • The present invention relates to an intervertebral disc replacement assembly (1350) comprising:
      a first member (1500) having a first vertebral contact surface for contacting a first vertebral body, a first bearing surface, and a first flange (1506) including a first hole;
      a second member (1600) having a second vertebral contact surface for contacting a second vertebral body, a second bearing surface cooperating with the first bearing surface to facilitate articulation of the first and second vertebral bodies with respect to one another, and a second flange (1606) including a second hole (1609),
      a third member (2500) having a third vertebral contact surface for contacting the second vertebral body, a third bearing surface, and a third flange (2506) including a third hole (2509); and
      a fourth member (2600) having a fourth vertebral contact surface for contacting a third vertebral body, a fourth bearing surface cooperating with the third bearing surface to facilitate articulation of the second and third vertebral bodies with respect to one another, and a fourth flange (2606) including a fourth hole,
      wherein the entirety of the second flange (1606) is offset to a first side of a midline of the assembly (1350), and the entirety of the third flange (2506) is offset to a second side of the midline of the assembly (1350).

    • The present invention relates to a system comprising: an intervertebral disc replacement device having first and second members; an insertion handle (800) comprising a shaft (802) a longitudinal bore (804) extending from the proximal end (808) toward the distal end of the shaft (802)and a manipulation feature disposed substantially at the proximal end (808) of the shaft (802); an insertion plate connected with and maintaining the first and second members of the intervertebral disc replacement device in registration with one another for substantially simultaneous insertion into an intervertebral disc space of a spinal column, the insertion plate operable for detachable engagement with the insertion handle (800), the insertion plate including a base having a posteriorly directed surface directed toward the first and second members, and a spaced apart anteriorly directed surface, at least one of the base of the insertion plate and the shaft (802) including a stem, and the other including a bore (804), such that the stem is receivable in the bore (804), and the insertion handle (800) and insertion plate detachably engage one another; and a pushing member (902) hand being slideably receivable within the longitudinal bore (804), wherein the insertion handle (800) is detachable from the insertion plate to facilitate removal of the insertion handle (800) when the intervertebral disc replacement device is positioned within the intervertebral disc space.
