摘要： An approach for supporting settlement of network usage associated with multiple network service providers is disclosed. A settlement system (301) includes a processor that determines a settlement agreement among the network service providers. The settlement agreement specifies rate information associated with traffic exchange among the corresponding networks of the network service providers. A traffic monitor (307) measures source traffic statistics, which is stored in a settlement database (309). Additionally, the settlement database (309) stores the settlement agreement. 摘要： Methods are disclosed for providing prepaid telephony service via an Internet protocol (IP) network system (300, 500). A first method provides controlling at least one media agent (304) or call routing station/switch (310, 312) of an IP network system (300) for allowing and/or blocking call media streams from traversing through the media agent. A second method provides directing all signaling messages transmitted by a signaling agent (502) or station (510, 512) and all media packets transmitting voice and data communications through at least one common device within the IP network system (500). The methods further provide for continuously monitoring a subscriber's account balance and terminating the prepaid telephony service if the account balance is less than a predetermined amount.

摘要： A call interception process for calling card calls originating from an international country (102) and terminating to high fraud domestic locations. When a call is placed, the call is screened against a database (120) which keys on international originating country access numbers. If a match against the database (120) is found, the call is routed to a first level operator (125) for billing acount verification. If billing account verification passed, the call interception process automatically overrides the calling card from any future intercepts. If verification failed, the call interception process automatically places the calling card in a 'LOCKED STATUS MODE' and terminates the call. As a result, subsequent calling card call attempts will be default to the first level operator. The process further limiting a number of subsequent calling card calls attempts from the originating terminating country (102) to domestic location. If the subsequent calling card call attempts exceeded the pre-determined limiting threshold, the call is routed to a second level operator (165) for caller identity verification.

摘要： An interactive computer-based training (ICBT) system and method operable over a computer network for training users. The ICBT system is provided with a state-machine-based hardware simultator for emulating various hardware states associated with a piece of equipment on which the users are to receive interactive training. A software simulator provided as a command inference engine is coupled to the hardware simulator, wherein the software simulator allows the users to interactively interrogate the emulated piece of equipment for its software functionality. One or more independently selectable learning modules are provided as part of the ICBT system, wherein each learning module includes one or more lesson plans related to the hardware and software functionality of the emulated piece of equipment. Also, the learning modules are inter-dependently associated with the hardware and software simulators. A user interface is provided for selecting one or more learning modules and for providing inputs from the users to the hardware and software simulators of the emulated piece of equipment so as to modify its configuration. The users can select any lesson plan or execute a portion of an ICBT session at any point therein without having to follow any sequential procedure.

摘要： A method for combining Internet protocols in a Differentiated Services model environment is described. The Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) and Common Open Policy Service (COPS) are combined together to provide methods of setting up a session (1) and tearing down a session, while maintaining Authentication, Authorization, and Accounting (AAA) policies (2).
