摘要： A system for producing components by hot stamping includes a laser cutting station for cutting a plate from a supplied steel-sheet material. The plate has at least one of a predetermined edge-contour and a predetermined cut-out portion for forming a shape of the component. The plate is stored in a storage station, and is subsequently transferred to a furnace station for heating the plate to a predetermined deformation temperature. A press having a hot stamping tool forms the plate into the shape of the component. The system also includes a measuring station disposed downstream of the press for obtaining measurement data relating to the shape of the component that is formed from the plate. The measurement data obtained using the measuring station is provided to a control module of the laser cutting station via a feedback loop.

The end or arm tooling system provides automated material handling, part manipulation, preforming and transferring of a pre-impregnated carbon fiber material. A robot is connected to end of arm tooling for automated material handling and transfer operations from at least a lower preform tool system where light compression is applied to a molding press. The end or arm tooling system includes a cured silicone membrane as well as vacuum and air blow off, allowing for robotically preforming, picking up and dropping-off pre-impregnated carbon fiber materials which are notoriously sticky and difficult to handle.

摘要： A method for manufacturing a hot formed part (20), such an automotive body component, is provided. The method includes heating a steel blank (22) to an austenite temperature, and quickly transferring the heated blank (22) to a hot forming apparatus (28). The method then includes forming the heated blank (22) between a pair of dies (24, 26), and trimming, piercing, shearing, or otherwise cutting the heated blank (22) or hot formed part (20) in the hot forming apparatus (28). The cutting step occurs while the microstructure of the steel blank (22) is substantially austenite, for example at a temperature of 400° C. to 850° C. The method can provide a hot formed part (20) having a desired shape in a single die stroke, without the need for a costly post-forming operation outside of the hot forming apparatus (28), such as laser trimming.
