    • Staple gun for driving staples into a workpiece includes a frame with a driver conveyable upward and downward. In the downward movement, the driver executes a drive stroke driving the staple. In the upward movement, an activation member conveys the driver to a highest height and releases the driver to execute the drive stroke. An elongated elastic member has a first end coupled to the driver and a second end to a bearing pin assigned to the frame. A first breakpoint pin is placed between the bearing pin and the driver at a first distance from the bearing pin, and a second breakpoint pin between the driver and the first breakpoint pin is arranged at a second distance from the bearing pin and is movable between first and second positions disengaging and engaging the elastic member, respectively. The first distance is related to the highest height as 1.6-2.0:1.

    • Stapler (1) which comprises a base part (2) and a stapling unit (3). The base part consists of a lower part (5) and an upper part (6) which are connected together such that they can be moved towards and away from each other, and between which parts is arranged a first elastic element (8) which, in an initial position, moves the upper and lower parts apart. A workpiece to be stapled is placed on the upper part (6), where an opening (31) is arranged through which the legs of the staple is driven after that the legs have driven through the wokpiece, and to which upper part bending devices (21, 22), pivotable about pivot pins (25, 26), are connected. The upper part being blocked from moving downward by a blocking arrangement (21, 22, 25, 26, 44, 45) when the driver drives the staple legs through the workpiece. The blocking device is disengaged by means of a releasing device (53, 54, 55, 56) when the staple crown (40) contacts the upper surface (17) of the workpiece.

    • A stapler comprises a stapler head (12) which accommodates a strip of wire staple blanks and is pivotable between a starting position and a working position, in which it is applied against a sheaf of papers (14). A staple shaper (20) shapes the blanks into substantially U-shaped staples, and a staple driver (21) releases the thus-formed staples from the strip and drives them one by one into the sheaf of papers (14). A pivotable operating means (15) reciprocates the staple shaper (20) and the staple driver (21). A drive means (22-26) is adapted to pivot the operating means (15) in such a manner that it causes the staple driver (21) to drive a staple into the sheaf of papers (14) in a driving stroke and causes the staple shaper (20) to shape the following staple in a shaping stroke, as well as adapted to pivot the stapler head (12) to its working position before the staple driver (21) performs the driving stroke and retain it there during the driving stroke of the staple driver. The drive means (22-26) synchronises the pivotal movements of the stapler head (12) and the operating means (15) in such a manner that the staple driver (21) performs a prolonged stroke in the driving direction and the staple shaper (20) performs the last phase of the shaping stroke when the stapler head (12) has left its working position in order to be pivoted back to its starting position.
