摘要： A method for reducing stiction in a MEMS device by decreasing surface area between two surfaces that can come into close contact is provided. Reduction in contact surface area is achieved by increasing surface roughness of one or both of the surfaces. The increased roughness is provided by forming a micro-masking layer on a sacrificial layer used in formation of the MEMS device, and then etching the surface of the sacrificial layer. The micro-masking layer can be formed using nanoclusters (520). When a next portion of the MEMS device is formed on the sacrificial layer (810), this portion will take on the roughness characteristics imparted on the sacrificial layer by the etch process. The rougher surface (910) decreases the surface area available for contact in the MEMS device and, in turn, decreases the area through which stiction can be imparted.

The clock bit comparator CBC, 312 compares lengths of a first time period lapsed while receiving at least five consecutive bits of the signal 304 and of an internal clock time interval representing the same number of bits as a number of bits of the first time period. The sampling moment adaptor SMA, 322 adapts the relative position of the sampling moment in dependence of a result of the comparison of the lengths to reduce a difference between the lengths.

摘要： A HAAR calculation system (HSYS) for calculating a HAAR feature of a predefined rectangular region (REG1 ) of an image is described. The HAAR calculation system comprises one or more memories (MEM), a plurality of compute engines (CU1, CU2, CU3, CUn), and a main processor (MCPU). Each compute engine is arranged to retrieve a block of image data (BLK(i)) corresponding to a rectangular image region (BLK(1 )...(BLK(mn+n)) from the one or more memories (MEM); calculate integral image values (IBLK(i)) for all pixels of the block of image data to obtain an integral image of the block of image data; and store the integral image (IBLK(i)) of the block in the one or more memories (MEM). The main processor (MCPU) is arranged to determine which one or more blocks of image data comprise pixels of the predefined rectangular region of the image; for each block of image data that comprise pixels of the predefined rectangular region of the image, define a respective rectangular region part (REC1, REC2, REC3, REC4, REC12, REC34) as the pixels of the block that belong to the predefined rectangular region of the image; calculate a HAAR feature of the rectangular region part (REC1, REC2, REC3, REC4, REC12, REC34) for each block of image data (IB1, IB2, IB3, IB4, IB12, IB34) that comprise pixels of the predefined rectangular region (REG1 ) of the image; and add the HAAR features of the rectangular region parts (REC1, REC2, REC3, REC4, REC12, REC34) to obtain the HAAR feature of the predefined rectangular region of the image.

摘要： An overmolded pressure sensor package (200, 500, 600, 700, 800) is provided. The pressure sensor die (Pcell) (240, 640, 750, 850) is capped so that the Pcell has enhanced rigidity to withstand stress effects produced by the molding encapsulant (410, 510, 670, 780, 880). The Pcell cap (310, 640, 740, 840) includes a hole (330, 650, 745, 845) located away from the Pcell diaphragm (250, 635, 755, 855), so that external gas pressure can be experienced by the Pcell, while at the same time directing moisture away from the diaphragm. Gel does not need to be used, and instead a soft film can be deposited on the Pcell to protect the Pcell diaphragm from excess moisture, if needed. The Pcell cap can take the form of, for example, a dummy silicon wafer (310, 740) or a functional ASIC (640, 840).
