摘要： A parachute (1) comprises a dome shaped canopy (2) defining an apex (11) and a peripheral hem (12). The canopy (2) is constituted by a plurality of generally isosceles triangular gores (7) joined to adjacent gores along main seams (8) to define a canopy of circular plan form. The gores (7) are consituted by a plurality of panels joined together along cross seams (9). The parachute has a main suspension system comprising a pluraltiy of primary suspension lines (3) of substantially equal length, and four manoeuvering suspension lines (3a,3b,3c,3d) of greater length than the primary suspension lines and disposed adjacent to one another. Each of the suspension lines (3,3a,3b,3c,3d) of the main suspension system is secured, at a first end thereof, to the hem (12) of the canopy (2), the opposite ends of the primary suspension lines (3) being connected to brackets (14,15) forming part of risers (4a,4b). The opposite end of each riser (4a,4b) is adapted to be connected to a parachute harness (5).

摘要： A parachute of the invention includes a canopy (11), main suspension lines (14) and an auxiliary suspension system (23, 20 and 30). The main suspension systems extends between the periphery of the canopy and the load (15) and the auxiliary suspension systems extends between the load (15) and positions (D) and (A) spaced from the periphery of the canopy. The auxiliary suspension system (23, 20, 30) assumes load during the initial stages of deployment leaving the main suspension lines untensioned thereby to allow the canopy skirt to spread without interference. A subsidiary feature of the invention provides for valve members (4) spaced about the vent (12) of a canopy (11). Both features result in reduced opening time of the canopy.
