摘要： A fuser module (12), being a fuser subsystem installable in a xerographic printing apparatus, includes an electronically-readable memory (13) permanently associated therewith. The control system of the printing apparatus (30) reads out codes from the electronically-readable memory (13) at install to obtain parameters for operating the module, such as maximum web use, voltage and temperature requirements, and thermistor calibration parameters.

摘要： A method and apparatus to track toner waste and the level of waste toner in a toner waste receptacle. A sensor measures the amount of toner developed on a photoreceptive member. At regular intervals a signal representing this developed toner amount is sent to a machine controller. The machine controller coverts the developed toner amount into an amount of residual waste based on the machine transfer efficiency. This residual waste amount is tracked and a signal is generated for a user as the toner waste receptacle approaches capacity. At full capacity an end of life signal is generated and for preservation of machine components the machine shuts down until the waste container is replaced.

摘要： A method of operating a printing apparatus a sub system in the apparatus is provided, wherein this sub system is disposed in the module which is separable from the apparatus. A code is associated to the module. A message derived from said code is communicated from the module and/or the apparatus over a network to a network user to order an ancillary part separate from the module, a part of the sub system or a replacement module. By such a method in a corresponding printing apparatus it is possible to provide corresponding information with a simple construction and with high speed to a location outside of the printing apparatus where such information is requested or needed.
